Love+ Friendship=LoveShip Part 1

I dedicate this story to my lovely friend Charmedone22 who wants me to write a Parth Tejasswi story on Friendship turning love.This story is inspired from the Kannada movie ‘Googly’.I really thank my dearest friend Palchin for giving me this plot to pen down this story.I have not watched this movie.So I have taken only the theme of the movie and all the scenes are my imagination.Special thanks to Reena for the edits.

A college campus....

A girl gave flowers to a boy.The boy received it happily.

"I love you Rahul".

Rahul became dull.

Rahul:I am sorry Mishka.You are a nice girl.But I love some other girl.

Mishka was expressionless.

Mishka:You are lying.You don't love anyone.You are close only to one girl.It's Rashmi;your best friend.

Rahul:But she is my love too.

Mishka was shocked:What?

Rahul:Ya Mishka.Our friendship turned love without our own knowledge.

Mishka was stunned.

Then arrived the beautiful Rashmi.

Rahul gave those flowers to Rashmi:Hi sweet heart.

Rashmi:Hi baby.

Mishka was shocked.

Rahul:Now you believe our love.Right?

Mishka nodded.

Rahul:You will get a better boy Mishka.

She was upset.

Mishka went away with disappointment.

Rashmi:Rahul...why did you lie to Mishka that we are lovers?

Rahul:Only then she will leave me.Since last few months she has been after me.Just to get rid of her I had to lie.

Rashmi:But it was not right Rahul.

Rahul:I know.But what to do?Anyways you remember today's date.Right?

Rashmi:Of course yes Rahul.Today is our friendship anniversary.

Rahul:Exactly.So let us celebrate our friendship anniversary without wasting our time.

Rashmi-Rahul did high five.

Rahul-Rashmi bought different types of cakes they liked and cut them.

Then they fed the cake to each other.

Rahul:Happy Friendship anniversary Rashmi.

Rashmi:Happy Friendship anniversary to you too Rahul.

Rahul:Do you remember how our friendship started?

Rashmi smiled:How can I forget that Rahul?

Flash back....

Rahul entered the college compound.

All the girls were flattered seeing him.

He was enjoying their attention.But he did not even bother to look at them.The girls were disappointed.

"Look at his attitude.So arrogant.How dare he ignore us?We should teach him a lesson"

Some boys were ragging a girl.The girl was crying.Suddenly Rahul came there pushing away the boys from the girl.

Rahul:How cheap of you guys to rag a girl like this just because she is your junior?

They:Nothing serious man.It's just for fun.

Rahul:I am also a fun loving boy.You guys also have fun.But not by making a girl cry.

So leave that girl.

The boys kept silent.The girls ran away.

There was a girl who was watching this with a smile.She was none other than Rashmi.

Rashmi:Who thought that this cool type guy can stand for an innocent girl?Such a sweet guy!

Shockingly the girl who got ragged complained to the Principal that Rahul ragged her.All the girls who were angry with Rahul for ignoring them also supported her.

Rahul was shocked when the Principal called him to the staff room.

Rahul became really upset as the girl whom he saved itself trapped him.

Rahul:Sir...please believe me.I did not rag her.

Principal:All these are witnesses.They all saw her getting ragged by you.

Suddenly Rashmi came inside.

Rashmi:Sir..I am also a witness.But what I saw was Rahul saving this girl from the boys who ragged her.

Rahul looked at her in disbelief as a stranger girl spoke in favour of him.

Principal:How will I believe that you are saying the truth?

Rashmi:I don't know Sir.But I am saying the truth.

Rashmi stared at that girl:I saw the incident with my own eyes.Rahul saved you.I saw it.Then why did you lie?

The girl started crying.

"I am sorry.These girls threatened me to lie.They said that if I don't do so I will be ragged by them".

All were shocked.The girls got embarrassed.

Rashmi:How can you all do this to a girl?Are you all not girls?

Principal:Thankfully I did not punish an innocent boy because of Rashmi.Very good job Rashmi.I will take action against them.Sorry for troubling you Rahul.

Rahul smiled painfully.

He looked at Rashmi.Giving him a smile she walked away.

Later.....

Rahul was thinking of Rashmi.

Rahul:Who is she?In which class is she studying?I want to meet her and thank her.

Suddenly his eyes fell on Rashmi who was sitting under the tree and reading a book.His face blossomed.

He went near her:Hi..

Her face too blossomed seeing him:Hi Rahul.

Rahul:How do you know my name?How did you remember my face?

She smiled:Who does'nt know you?You are not only the most handsome boy of this college, but also the topper.

He smiled.

Rahul:Thank you for saving me Rashmi.If you had not saved me I would have been dismissed from this college.

Rashmi:How do you know my name?

Rahul:I heard the Principal Sir calling you by this name.

She smiled:Oh ya.

Rahul:Thank you again.

Rashmi:Your thank you is accepted.But in return will you be my friend?

Rahul smiled:Sure.We can be friends.

You proved you can be a good friend by saving my reputation.

She smiled.

They extended their hands towards each other and had a cute handshake.

Rashmi was waiting forRahul in the canteen.Rahul peeped through the windows into the canteen and screamed.She just smiled as she knew that it was him.

Rashmi turned back and saw him coming inside.

Both walked towards each other.

Rashmi:You tried to scare me?

She tickled him.Theyboth were laughing.

Rahul-Rashmi enjoyed spending time on the beach by watching the waves.

Rahul and Rashmi danced together in college dance competition

and won the trophy.

aaja dil ki ye zameen
thoda sa tera sa hoga

They took cute crazy photographs.

While walking,Rahul and Rashmi slipped and fell down together.

Rahul got scared like a kid.

Rahul:Oh my God!Save me....Mumma...!

Seeing his facial expression, Rashmi burst into laughter.

Rashmi:You are like a kid who is scared.

He pouted.

na ho chaar deewarein,
phir bhi jharokhe khule,
baadalon ke hothon pe
shaakhein hare pankhe jhalen

Rahul surprised Rashmi wishing her Happy birthday by showing a round ball where it was written ‘Happy birthday’.

Rashmi was so surprised and excited that she hugged him.

Present....

Rahul and Rashmi were chatting.Rahul saw Mishka observing them.

He whispered:Mishka is watching us.Let us start our cheesy romantic drama.

Rashmi moved her lipsas if she was going to kiss him:Smooch baby…

Rahul showed weird sensual expression on his face.He was licking his own lips as if he was getting affected by her kiss.

Mishka felt disgusted and said:Chee…

She walked away.

Rashmi-Rahul winked a teach other realizing that Mishka has gone.They laughed.

Rashmi was on leave for a few days she had gone to attend her cousin's wedding.Rahul was missing her a lot.

Mishka went near Rahul.

Mishka:Missing your best friend?

Rahul:Mishka...I told you that Rashmi is my ...?

Mishka:I know that you lied.I had not gone Rahul.That day I was overhearing you talking to Rashmi that you did love drama with her to keep me away.

Rahul became embarrassed and was not able to face her.

Mishka:Don't worry Rahul.I am not here to disturb you.But I feel that what you told me was not a lie.You really love Rashmi,but you have not realized it.

Rahul was stunned.

Rahul:What nonsense!Stop it Mishka.

Rashmi:I know that my words irritated you.But that's the truth Rahul.You wait and see Rahul.You will realize it one day.

Rahul:Mishka please...

He walked away angrily.

Rashmi came back to college.Rahul hugged her happily.

Rahul:Missed you Rashmi.

Rashmi:Missed you Rahul.

Rahul:How was the wedding?

Rashmi:It was grand.

By the way Rahul...at the wedding I met my father's friend's family.

Dad's friend's son Druv is joining our college.We both will be a gang.It will be cool.Right?

Rahul:Really cool.

When Druv joined the college,Rashmi gave him a welcome hug.

Seeing their hug Rahul became dull.

Rashmi:Welcome to our college Druv.

Druv:Thank you ...

Rahul could not see Druv's face properly as he was not standing near them.

Rahul looked at him again to get a clear view of him.

Mishka is right that Rahul has not realized his love.

When Druv joined the college,Rashmi gave him a welcome hug.

Seeing their hug Rahul became dull.

Rashmi:Welcome to our college Druv.

Druv:Thank you ...

Rahul could not see Druv's face properly as he was not standing near them.

Rahul looked at him again to get a clear view of him.

Rashmi called Rahul as she saw him looking at them from a distance.

Rashmi:Hey Rahul...Come here.

Rahul walked towards them.

Rashmi:I told you about Druv.This is Druv.

Rahul looked at Druv.

Druv:Hi Rahul.Rashmi had told me about you.Nice to meet you.

Rahul:Nice to meet you too.

Rashmi smiled.

When Rahul and Rashmi were talking to each other,Druv came.

Druv:Hi guys.

Rahul:Hi Druv...

Druv:Can I join you guys?

Rashmi:Come on Druv.What is the need of asking?We are friends.

With a smile Druv sat near them.

Rahul became dull.

Whenever Rahul and Rashmi planned to go out,Druv also joined them.The trio started going out together.Rahul felt irritated as when they go out also,Druv is always with them giving them no privacy.

The final exams were nearing...

Once Rahul saw Rashmi and Rahul doing combined studies.Rahul felt left out.

Rahul:Why did'nt you call me?

Rashmi:Rahul...you are very intelligent.But Druv is of my standard.So Druv is my type to do studies with.

For the first time Rahul felt sad for becoming a topper.

He thought:I wish I was also just an above average student like Rashmi.Then I would have been with Rashmi now instead of Druv.

Exams got over and there was a farewell party.

Rahul was going to ask Rashmi's hands for dancing.But before that Druv came in between and asked Rashmi:May I dance with you?

Rashmi:Sure.

Druv held Rashmi's hand and walked to the dance floor.It was unbearable for Rahul.

They started dancing.

Mmmm

Bin puchhe mera
Naam aur pataa
Rasmon ko rakh ke pare
Chaar kadam
Bas chaar kadam
Chal do naa saath mere

Seeing their dance,Rahul was burning with jealousy.Seeing Druv's hands on Rashmi's body,he could not tolerate it anymore and pulled away Druv from Rashmi.

Then he slapped Druv shocking everyone.

Rashmi:Rahul!What is this?Why did you slap Druv?

Rahul did not answer Rashmi.Instead he pulled the collar of Druv's shirt.

Rahul:Why are you touching Rashmi here and there?

Both Druv and Rashmi were shocked.

Druv:What are you saying Rahul?I was just dancing with Rashmi.

Rahul:No,you were taking advantage of Rashmi.

Rashmi:Stop it Rahul.I was dancing with Druv.I was comfortable with him.He did not touch me in a wrong way.

Rahul felt hurt seeing her supporting Druv.

Rahul:Ok.But why did you dance with him instead of dancing with me?

Rashmi:What are you asking me Rahul?Druv asked me to dance with him and I danced with him.You did not call me for dance,so I did not dance with you.What's the big deal?Why are you making it a big issue?

Rahul looked at her painfully.

Rahul:You danced with Druv,because he has become moreimportant than me to you.

Rashmi was shocked.

Rashmi:Rahul!How can you even talk like this?You simply feellike this.

Rahul:No.It’s a fact that after Druv came,you are spendingmore time with him.You forgot your best friend because of him.

Rashmi was stunned to hear his words.

Rahul stared at Druv.

Rahul:Why did you come between us?Why did you separate Rashmifrom me?

Druv and Rashmi were shocked.

Druv:Rahul…you are misunderstanding me.I did’nt do anythingintentionally.

Rahul:No,you came between us and created distance between meand Rashmi.Tell me why.Is it because you love Rashmi or something else?

Druv and Rashmi were shocked.

Rashmi:Stop it Rahul.Enough…you said enough.I never thoughtthat you can think so cheap.You even insulted our pure friendship.I can neverforgive you for that.Our college life is over.From now onwards there will benothing between us.

Rahul was shocked and shattered.

Rahul:Please don’t say like that Rashmi.I can’t lose a friendlike you.

Rashmi:You made me say so through your cheap mentality.

The broken Rahul looked at Druv angrily.

Rahul:It’s all because of you that I lost Rashmi.

Druv did not know what to say.

Rashmi:Again and again you are talking like this.I am ashamedof having friendship with you.I was wrong in judging you.Anyways everything isover now.

Rahul:Rashmi!

Rashmi held Druv’s hand and walked out.

Rahul cried bitterly.Mishka came near him.

She cupped his face painfully.

Mishka:Rahul!

Rahul did not respond.

Mishka:To be frank I feel that Druv is not at fault.It’s yourover possessiveness towards Rashmi which made you behave like this.Do you knowwhy you got insecure with Druv-Rashmi’s friendship?Because you love Rashmi.Justfor a friend,nobody becomes so possessive.

Rahul got irritated.

Rahul:Can you please stop it Mishka?Don’t brainwash me.

Mishka:I am not brainwashing you Rahul.I am telling the factwhich yourself did not understand yet.One day you will understand that.

Rahul walked away angrily ignoring her.
