I was just now seeing an article and it seems that even the cast wasn't unhappy about KZK2 ending.

EK simply believes in bringing onboard popular actors and after a point wouldn't care about what is being made out of the story.

I remember once Rhea said that she doesn't become a part of any project which she feels is not meant for her. I sure hope she feels this one show is not meant for her and she can wait for other offers.
