Anyone following the Vodafone Tax case?

Major victory for Vodafone in International tribunal against India. Big blow to this "retrospective tax" concept in India. Actually a blessing in disguise for India. SC had overturned the Tax authorities claims of retrospective tax on vodafone but the parliament made changes in the law in 2012 to bypass SC ruling and demanded the tax to be paid. Vodafone then went to the International Tribunal and have today won the case.

No big companies will opt to enter India if taxes and policies are constantly changed and that too with retrospective effect. With this humiliation, hopefully, no govt. will again think of such weird policies.

@kamal - it will help Vodafone to some extent but being a biggest loss making company they won't survive much. Only Airtel and jio will survive in the due course. Even Airtel is finding it difficult to tackle jio onslaught. Jio has declared postpaid plans with NF, AP and hotstar subscription to which Airtel has no answer yet.
