If you read the explanations given his name was already bachchan as given to him by his father for his own personal reasons. Then why would he change it back?

Why is aamir khan not aamir hussain??

So many examples. Their choice. As if tbey sat anf wondered their decisions as much as this forum sits and discusses it

Don't muslims have a different naming system? Like they use their father/husband's most common name as their surname? I was reading about it since I watch Pak shows and got confused...could be wrong though...

Tahir Hussain was Tahir Hussain Khan...the kids used the surname instead of 'Tahir' or 'Hussain'.

Intercaste marriages weren't huge back in the day so that makes sense. Honestly Kayasthas are the last people who focus on casteism etc. There were traces of it back in the day but now, they're probably the most liberal and chilled ones out there. Its sad he dropped his surname because Kayasthas hardly get any representation in the industry. If only everyone knew how cool their story is

He named Amitabh "Inquilab" at birth. One can understand his frame of mind at that time by that. He was rebelling against his own and his child(ren) were a way to express that rebellion.

I would like to know the story of Kayasthas 😊

I would like to know the story of Kayasthas 😊

Okay I present another of my lengthy essays 😂

Kayasthas are also known as Chitraguptavanshis because they are direct descendants of Bhagwan Chitragupta.

Yamaraj needed someone to help him keep the accounts of people's good or bad deeds because he alone couldn't figure out whether the dead should be rewarded or punished. He asked Brahma, who meditated for some thousand years.

Chitragupta was born from Brahmaji's mind so he was his 'Manasputra'. Chitragupta was gifted the brains and knowledge of Brahmins and the fighting capabilities of Kshatriyas. Thats why Kayasthas are gifted and don't fall into any varna (I mean the ancient varna system, not today's corrupted one).

Also because Chitragupta Bhagwan was created from Brahma's whole body (unlike brahmin from brains, kshatriya from shoulders etc), they possess qualities of all varnas and are very gifted.

Chitragupta had 12 kids from 2 wives... from them came the clans which are used as surnames. They are Shrivastava, Sinha (Ambastha), Saxena, Nigam, Mathur, Bhatnagar, Gaur, Ashthana, Kulshrestha, Suryadwaja, Karna and Vaalmik.

From their maternal side, Kayasthas can also be considered Suryavanshis because Surya bhagwan's granddaughters (aka Manu and Yamaraj's daughters) were married to Chitragupta. Because Rishi Kashyap is Suryadev's father, Kayastha gotra is primarily Kashyap.

There are other Kayasthas as well such as Bengali or Marathi but the surnames are different. Those are branched out sub divisions. Most Kayastha ancestry can be traced to UP and Bihar.

Kayasthas can be both academically and performing arts wise gifted. I'll give you an example of music director Chitragupta (funny he is a Shrivastava and is named after his forefather!).

He was a lecturer at a university in Bihar before getting into the film industry and he had two Masters degrees. Subsequently his children Anand and Milind also got into the industry but I am sure I had read somewhere that both the kids have Masters degrees as well...at the same time they are gifted music directors.

Similar to how music director Chitragupta Shrivastava used his first name...his sons use Anand-Milind as their stage name but they're normally known as Anand/Milind Chitragupta or Anand/Milind Shrivastava. The rest of their family must be Shrivastavas only.

OMG are you telling me HR is actually Hrithik Nagrath? My mind is blown!

Isski toh jaach padtal honi chahiye. Yeh nepokids apna surname kaisey badal saktey hain? C'mon Kangu didi! You need to investigate 😂
