There are many stories of God's having many wives. But there are also many stories of women having two or more husbands, or having multiple relationships.

For eg. Kunti , no need to mention the entire story, she was engaged with multiple Gods to get heirs to Kuru dynasty. Earlier Satyavathi, then Ambika and Ambalika got sons from Ved Vyas.

Jatila- Jatila or Maha-Gautami Devi is the daughter of Bhu-devi. He is Maha-Pati vrita stree. He is wife of Saptarishis. ( This Jatila is different, not the one who worked as Kans' secretary in this RK serial!)

Polygyny of gods reflects the intensely patriarchal nature of ancient tribal societies that created the first gods. All gods in all religions of the world originated from tribal minds. Tribal societies were protective of their women who were safer under the control of powerful husbands who could afford multiple wives and sire multiple children whose chances of survival were also higher due to better nutrition and safety. Thus it was natural and desirable that tribal gods should have multiple consorts as well.
