Multi-starrers sometimes work for flop actors. Like Saif got a new lease of life doing Love Ke Liye Sala and Dil Chahta Hai. Same with Akki. On the other hand Vivek Oberoi ruined his career doing multi starrers. His solo movies didn't work after Sathiya, so he kept doing multistarrers and those films working gave the industry and the audience the impression that he isn't solo film material. Abhishek ke saath bhi aisa hua. So one must not do too many multistarrer that people think he can't do solo.

It is a very competitive industry. Stars compete for meatier roles..want to be cast opposite a known face and so on... a lot of animosity is generated when the main and second lead compete for screen time, songs etc... everyone wants to be the main focus of the movie- hence the aversion towards multistarrers...it is usually the down on luck types who accept such roles in order to stay visible and boost their chances in the industry

They are insecure because they feel they would appear as lesser stars. People like Tusshar don't have this worry because he's not a star in the first place. If anything, a multistarrer helps people like him, as no one would watch his solo films.

True. Shashi Kapoor made a nice career out of it, but had solo hits too. Tushaar will never be solo .
