I believe it is not about believing Garima of not. He just choose Khushi to be his priority.

But truth to be told .CV's were quite lazy after the kidnapping track..

I think its a blooper because I remember him saying something like there was no fault of garima...it was his fathers fault

@ Romanaff I think it was after Garima said something about not knowing that his father was married. Then he told Dadi that Garima was innocent and his father was to be blamed.

Till that time, he was only there because he chose Khushi and their future over his past (as @ -floragrace- mentioned)

Now, one may wonder how he believed Garima's words so instantly when we have seen him mistrusting Khushi's words constantly. Well maybe it was that exact reason - he had never trusted Khushi and always assumed her to be at fault just to find out later that it wasn't so. So maybe this time he decided to try trusting what was being said.

Another factor could be that he knew how his father was. Unlike Dadi, he had always believed it to be both's mistake and not just the other woman. So he knew his father was at fault. The only change was that the other woman had been innocent unlike what he was led to believe earlier. Maybe knowing Garima and experiencing her love and hospitality during their stay at Buaji's house helped in strengthening this belief over her words.

So it might have been a multiple small small things that shaped his opinion. This is the explanation that I've in my mind for his actions that day. Tell me what you think...

Love,

Stuti

Yeah it might be like that...anyways I have always felt that they wrapped this sequence in a rush. A little elaboration would have been good.

Well I had the same doubt... I accepted below was the reason.

Barun was leaving the show. Makers wanted to show Arshi marriage anyhow! Maybe they could have thought this would be the ending of iss pyaar ko kya naam doon.

But again Barun extended for 3 months and we got the end we saw.

There's a high possibility that it was supposed to be a separation track because garima truth was out. But all wanted to end the show with barun being ASR so that's how the writers tweaked it off.

They showed Arnav chose Khushi over everything now. If she could risk her life in saving him then he could trust her this one time. After all you can't punish the rose for having thorns in the stem.

That's my perspective and I don't mean to be offensive.

I think this is the most logical explanation. As Barun was supposedly leaving the show we got the rushed remarriage track and the cvs forgot to close many loopholes .

Dadi just painted the woman as the villain. No wrong attributed to the man. He knew his father was not blameless and for once chose to side with logic.

When Arnav returned to the wedding venue, he already made up his mind to marry Khushi. He wronged Khushi once and he almost did it once again because of Dadi. He is not going to do it again at any cost. He did say at the beginning of the episode that he loves Khushi and nothing else matters. We have to understand that he was referring to Garima's relationship with his father.

When Dadi asked him once again, he said, it was not Garima's fault. It was only his father's fault because while married to his mother, his father kept a relationship with another lady. Hasn't he seen how Shyam manipulated and almost got engaged to Khushi while married to Anjali? In that scenario he knows Khushi was not at fault. So, it is obvious he won't blame Garima.

Cheers.......
