The BJP has been trying for years to have more control over a rogue industry that doesn't support them. So far all they've been able to do is force them to do some photo ops for them but it's obvious that most of them don't want to align with them.

If they cast enough fear over them, they can make everyone dance to their tunes. Behind the scenes, they will need to reach out to scummy politicians to help them get out of this. Once that happens, they will have them under their thumb forever. They can extract some bribes out of them too. People like Rhea are useless for them except to get to higher-ups that have more money and more to lose. I won't be surprised if Rhea is being prompted about which names to give.

Does the Indian legal system has the “offering appeal deal” thing, like in US, where the prosecutor can offer a deal to the accused in getting extra info. The prosecutor cAn plead down the charges, if the accused can give them more names . Did a system like this exist in India?

Yes but i think this happens only when the agency doesn't have enough evidence. Therefore they offer the accused to became Sarkari Gawah but In Rhea case, they have WhatsApp chats and the other two accused testimony...
