Riddhima hadn't even stopped to consider if what she was drinking was alcohol. She had taken a bite of some food and as she bit on a chilli, her mouth began to figuratively set itself on fire. Her hand immediately reached for a glass that contained what looked like coke. Riddhima downed it in one shot. She began to giggle as she stared at the glass in amazement.
"Vansh!" Riddhima giddily called as she stumbled her way into the spacious room.
Vansh furrowed his brows as she observed his wife's bizzare behaviour. Her eyes brightened as she spotted his domineering figure.
"Vansh!" Riddhima repeated, this time with a giggle as she bounded towards him and clasped his arm.
"Let's go on a honeymoon Vansh" she suggested with a beaming smile, "we can go to the Caribbean, Ibiza or even Majorca" Riddhima suggested as she gazed into Vansh's eyes.
Vansh smirked and stared at her amusedly.
"Are you drunk?" He questioned as he attempted to stifle his laughter.
Riddhima looked at him in pure unadulterated shock which was undercut by her innocent looking pout.
"Vansh!" She screeched as she removed her grip from his arm in horror.
"I'm not an alcoholic, who told you I'm an alcoholic? You're an alcoholic" Riddhima spoke in a flurry of words as she periodically slapped Vansh's chest. It wasn't as painful as it was annoying.
"Riddhima stop" Vansh said with a smile on his face as he grabbed both of Riddhima's hands with his own.
"No" Riddhima pouted as she attempted to release her hands. Though her coordination was no longer adequately working so she stumbled backwards onto the bed with a screech, dragging Vansh onto her.
Vansh's smirk transformed into a proper smile and his gaze softened as he looked at Riddhima's blushing face.
The moment was broken by the rushing of footsteps.
"Is everything ok, I heard a scream" Daadi questioned as she entered the room with every member of the household.
Riddhima and Vansh were both broken from their reverie and immediately got up from their compromising position and awkwardly coughed.
Ishaani glared at Riddhima, whilst Aryan raised his eyebrows and Siya beamed. Chanchal rolled her eyes as did Rudra and Anupriya stood frozen in the spot.
"I guess this should be expected from a newlywed couple" Daadi said in a teasing tone.
Vansh coughed and Riddhima blushed harder than what could be possible.
Ishaani fumed "Bhai what happened?" she questioned in regards to the noise unable to control herself, sure that this was another ploy of her brothers to expose Riddhima.
"Preparation for the honeymoon" Vansh mumbled into Riddhima's ear who lightly slapped his chest in annoyance.
"Uh nothing" Vansh said aloud as he glanced at his slighly shocked family.
"You can leave now" he said in a manner that seemed like as if was giving an order rather than an option.
The family slowly filtered out of the room.
Riddhima sighed in relief as she grabbed a pillow and slammed it against Vansh who chuckled.
She collapsed on the bed and looked at the ceiling with a smile. Vansh also found himself smiling at the rare sight. He was about to go to his couch before Riddhima looked at him with a pout and patted the space beside her.
"Lay here" She mumbled, every part of Vansh's brain was telling him that this was a a bad idea but he still fell beside her.
"Do you like me?" She questioned with her eyes closed, her voice tinged with insecurity.
Normally Vansh would have said no to spite her but the truth was Vansh did like her at this moment as she lay beside him vulnerable and not hungry for proof against him.
"I like you" he confirmed as he looked at her face with an unsually sombre smile.
"Will you like me when this is over" She questioned her eyes still closed. And Vansh knew that she meant when this moment was over and when she was sober and looking for proof of every acusation against him.
"I like you enough to marry you" Vansh says and Riddhima opens eyes in confusion not understanding what her husband is intending to say.
"I intend to spend the rest of my life with you, thats how much I like you" Vansh confesses as he gazes into Riddhima's eyes. He might regret this vulnerable moment tomorrow but right now it feels right.
"Would you like that" Vansh questions and his heart flutters as Riddhima smiles at him.
"I would like that" she mumbles with a smile.
Then Vansh leans forward and slots his lips against Riddhima's and grins into their kiss as it feels exactly like two missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle finally being connected.
Maybe tomorrow's horizon will bring trust, love and harmony into their marriage.
