Hey! A new member here, been a silent reader for a couple of weeks now and finally decided to break that.
I recently started watching PB, in the last episode of the kidnapping track if I had to be exact and then went back and watched all the old episodes on Voot last week.
Coming to the cast, this is my second show of Aneri, I've watched her in NAUC. To compare her performace as Prani with her one as Nisha, she has improved leaps and bounds as an actor, she in fact is killing it as Praniti! I did not follow any of the shows she did in between, but I did follow the kind roles she did, and I am glad that with Praniti she has finally got to break her 'tomboyish'/ second friend type lead characters streak with Prani, and I am indeed glad this is her first full on bechaari mahaan ITV female lead.
Kunal, man, I know he was that shant brother in Ishqbaaz and a normal lad in Silsila. I've seen promos of those shows, but PB is the first show of his that I'm following full on following. He is a bomb actor man!! His facial expressions are killer, specially in both the extreme scenes, be it comic ones or intense ones. And in scenes that require emotions, he is again outdoing himself, the way he carries himself, the body language, the subtle eye movements (few scenes even throat movements), the way he expresses through his eyes, speak volumes of his potrayal of Rey. I am glad that it is such a fine actor who is getting to play Rey, which is a messy or greyish character that is all over the spectrum from one extreme to another, rather than someone else who might make it look like a one note character.
Vaishnavi, again, where and how did they zero in on her?! The girl had so much spunk and attitude as Jugnu. In those first 15 episodes she was indeed killer, and literally outdid the rest of the cast for her age. Such an amazing actor, I really wish that this entire age rules thing cuz of Corona din't come in her way.
Riva, again, a brilliant choice as Jugnu. I really wish that they had a small time leap of sorts (something more than the mentioned 9 months) to take her in as Jugnu, she is again fantastic in what she's doing. But sometimes she seems far from the kid that came from Ashram, a tad bit old for the role, a bit mature if I had to be exact. That could've been easily solved with a bigger time leap. She might not be as spunky as Vaishnavi, but man, the killer attitude is there!! And Riva looks & connects more as Reyansh's daughter than Vaishnavi did. I really wish they give more scope for Riva to perform, because she's been doing really well with the little performance oriented stuff that she's got, I hope she gets more scenes to perform and bring forth various aspects of Jugnu's charater.
Coming to the supporting characters, again a brilliant star cast! Despite whatever restrictions they've had, the makers have casted really good actors for the rest of the cast as well. It is really important to have a good and strong supporting cast to make the story believable, understandable and enjoyable and PB's casting team have done it perfectly.
Abhishek (he had my entire heart as Aditya Bhalla in the 10 or 12 episodes of YHM that I saw), again, a good actor. I really wish they stop him from being this one note character that he and give him more performance scope, give an arc/ range and a bit more screen space to Archit. Sometimes Archit really does get boring with the same story going in circles for him. I really hope Abhishek gets more scope and shades in the future.
Viba ji as Dadi, again is killer! She has shades, ranging from her business woman stance to being the Khuranna family matriach and man she brilliantly perfroms every shade of Dadi. She is one of those characters that makes you hate her but also laugh and smile at the same time.
Mohit , again, plays Armaan and his different shades beautifully to perfection. Be it a womaniser, the brother, the negative, the cheater, the guy trying to woo a girl, etc.
Yatin as Maan warms my heart, in the recent episodes specially! I am interested to see where they go with his character in the future.
Similarly the girls who play Riya (Prema, if I am not wrong) & Navya, brilliant casting again, and brilliant actors. Both have played a range withing their respective characters itself in this show and I can't wait to witness what more they're gonna bring to the table!
Also not the forget the rest of actors who brilliantly play Praniti's family and the extended Khuranna clan. I wish to see more of Anisha and also Prani's fam on screen. PB has a brilliant star cast and a strong base story, both the essentials for an absolutely interesting entertainment fest. I hope the makers and the channel don't meddle and mess it up and they take it forward beautifully.
And also, this show is beautiful and extremely addictive!! Also, I literally read through the old AT and also this one with every episode I completed. Looking forward to more amazing discussions here!!
