A lot of heavy complaining has been going on with shows. Jalan, Ishqiya, Mehboob Aapke Qadmon, Pyar Ke Sadqay, Dilruba, Raaze Ulfat are just a number of shows that have been getting complaints to PEMRA in the last few months because of the content from what I’ve seen. I honestly see Jalan getting banned soon at the way it’s looking from my perspective.

To me, I find dramas to be solely for entertainment. I’m not watching Jalan to learn how to treat anyone, nor am I watching Uraan to learn life lessons. But in Pakistan it’s different I guess, since people kinda take messages from these dramas.

Why would anyone want to watch Ishqiya again, lol?

Seriously though, I don't get how they're picking and choosing these dramas?

They say violation of sacred relationships- which I get people's problem with Jalan. Is Ishqiya affected by this because of bad luck and timing? There is a whole list of dramas with problematic saali/bhehnoi relationships. There was Yaariyan last year. There was that one with Saba Qamar and Aamina Sheikh (??). Why are they acting that these are the first dramas touching this tabboo topic? *eye roll*

Also, who's complaining about Pyar Ke Sadqey? I've never watched it, but apart from the rape-y father in law is there anything there to ban? There have been a lot of dramas with rape-y relatives too, so again I don't get what's offended their sensibilities there.

That is so weird. There have been worst dramas in the past which never got banned. If any drama is to be banned it should be toxic ones like BM and MDMD.

I swear. There are WAY deeper issues in Pakistan than people watching Ishqiya. 🤦🏼‍♂️ I don’t understand what was the point of them banning reruns though. So many people already watched it the first time so what’s the point?

Yup agreed with you about this. Bikhre Moti should be banned if they want to ban Ishqiya, as BM is more toxic. At the rate PEMRA is going it seems Pakistani TV is going to get heavily censored

lol banning tv shows now😆...Thats why this kind of ending is served in shows because the viewers cant differentiate between real and reel.Dramas are for entertainment for god sake not for moral policing.One thing is good atleast now pak shows will move on from that same old saali behnoi relationship and show some new content😆..I am atleast saved from this as i have put on a full stop in case of watching pak shows after ishqiya..Will only watch if feroze hania get recasted..

Chalo PEMRA is responsible for censoring TV and maybe I shouldn't expect more from them.

But MNA Ali Mohammad Khan brought up the issue of 'immoral dramas' up in parliament. He talked about dramas showing respected relationships in a bad light. I'm sure the government has other things to do.
