This is an analysis and wish post of today's episode.
I am seeing a twinge of care from Riddhima from last couple of episodes also there is a some level of subconscious acceptance of him as her husband that started after the "Sindoor girna" Episode. From there onwards whenever he tried to touch her she didn't deny, Yes.. she is apprehensive but NO denial of touching that was before, the disgust that was before.
Now I observed a few points after watching today's episode umpteenth time.
So let me share the lens from which I am seeing Riansh:
a. Riddhima's Dream: When she dreamt of Vansh shooting Kabir. It wasn't Kabir's name on her lips that wakes her up from her nightmare it was Vansh's. As a fellow forum member "SnehaSneha" wrote in her wonderful Riansh Oneshot: Bad Dream it was her subconscious need of not having her husband labeled as a killer. Not having him do criminal, unlawful things. This was triggered during her phone call to Kabir after Sathe's supposed murder. When she says, "Maine ek rakshas se shaadi kari h" and this feeling of him being her husband, the man in her life, the man she is bound to is slowly growing on Riddhima.
b. When she wakes up from her nightmare he is there, in all his glory with all his flirtatiousness and says to her, "Har ishq ki shuruwat ek khoobsurat khwab ke saath hoti h"
But.. It wasn't her dream, it was her nightmare. Just like HE wasn't her dream but HER nightmare. Like she says, "Hum normal pati-patni nahi h" Toh inke ishq ki shuruwat normal kaise ho sakti h? Symbolism?? May be or May be not. But I believe this is the journey of your nightmare paving the way to your love. Of pride and prejudice. Of the Eye of the Beholder (watch it on YouTube beautiful depiction of Perceptions and judgements).
Moving on he says, "Kahin dhadakne toh nhi laga hun mai... Dil mai" If you guys observed that line was emphasised with BG music and Echo. Also, what I found peculiar is Riddhima's expression in that were not of aversion.. They were of denial as if she is telling herself she would never give him place in her heart, she won't let that happen. But ISHQ doesn't work that way. It comes and many a times "denial" paves the way for it.
c. I don't know about you my lovely forum buds but I have watched TV since forever. From Sujal-Kashish, Angad-Kripa, to Aditya-Priya, Shivaay & Anika.. I have seen it all. And so by now I have seen all forms of female lead reactions when the male lead touches her, romances her, hurts her.
Today, When Vansh moved his hand across Riddhima's nape while putting her hair aside she wasn't repulsed, she wasn't afraid but she felt something.. Some primitive emotion, her eyes speak volumes, they always give her away. She was shocked and she had this ache in expression... A physical ache. When he went down and put his lips on her lower back trying to make the zip work she was gasping, her heartbeats increased. If you visit the scene a couple of times you would see Riddhima panting, turning to look sideways towards him, confused about what's happening to her still unable to deny him. He gets up and moves up her zip, she keeps her head down, her hands clenched on her sides, thousands of thoughts in her head all visible in her eyes.
d. When Vansh moves away from the mirror, look at Riddhima there is a confused expression on her face her dilemma about what just happened, what she just felt. Then, she thinks may be Kabir is outside and you can see the shift in her expression the guilt, the scare although there were no dialogue you can read her mind, "She loves Kabir, always wanted him THEN what was this feeling right now with Vansh, what was that ache.. WHAT?" and her eyes tear up.
More than her love I think Kabir has become her anchor.. an anchor she believes she can trust amidst the chaos of the Rai Singhania Mansion, the reasoning behind her duplicity.. abandoning Kabir means accepting she is a liar, a cheat, a manipulator everything she abhors and everything she believes Vansh to be. Her love is shifting, it's gradual very slow but it is. But, I don't see her anchor shift this soon. It will happen and her world will tumble but not before we have gone through this thrilling passionate ride with Riansh.
e. I think and may be I am wrong but Vansh when he sees a shadow outside his room through the mirror I think he was not angry with the fact that someone was outside his room... he knows there is a function in the house and any house-help, family member may come to call him or his wife. He was rather perturbed that it was a silhouette of a man. With HIS wife standing there in front of the mirror, her dignity.. her bare back on display which HE as HER Husband has the RIGHT to see, to hold, to touch but NO ONE else has. Whether it's a family member, friend or staff.
And this thought of someone peeking into his room, seeing his wife like that in her semi dressed state made him furious, made him run out to catch the culprit to lash out at Sunny.
Love is a long way to go, this is just the beginning of feelings laced with distrust, trap and mysteries. But it's gonna be a fun journey before reaching the destination. Let's enjoy.
That was my analysis of those scenes in today's episode that impacted me the most.
