Yes, survival is important and TRPs is the only thing that can make a show survive.
And about TRP, I never claimed that the highest rated shows have great content. I was only question your contradicting claims:

1. High TRP shows have horrible story lines

2. YRHPK used to get good TRP before due to good writing.
Clearly both cannot be true simultaneously. If 1) is true, then it would mean YRHPK’s writing in the past was horrible and if 2) was true, then it would mean the high TRP shows have great stories. Do you get the problem here?
And stop blaming BARC. When people here didn’t question the accuracy of the BARC data when YRHPK rated well, how can you question now? So just because this show’s ratings have fallen, rigging has begun, is it? As far as I know, Rajan Shahi’s is a big producer himself. I am sure he can rig ratings too. So don’t make contradictory statements.

It’s doing moderately well inspite of slot change

Slot change was the worst factor and that happened after lockdown

TRPs depend on the viewer demographics. The same set of viewers don’t watch our show and those other types of shows. One set of viewers like good content and modern outlook, the other set of viewers like regressive and nonsensical stuff.

Hence the difference, when our show had great content it got high TRPs, now content is compromised so not doing so well. Because our show’s viewers are different and want better content..
The so called popular shows with high TRPs have a different set of viewers who stick to those shows no matter what nonsense is thrown at them.

You cannot lump all viewers into the same category, viewer demographics is crucial in the TRP game. That’s why one frequent complaint is against TRP aunties who watch those crappy shows and make them run for years. While good content shows get shut down because they have low TRPs.

Sony shows mostly have great content but low TRPs because the other bigger set of viewers mostly watch Zee and SP shows

As for Shahi I never heard rigging rumors about him and even if he does he wouldn’t do it for our show. He has shown time and again that he doesn’t care about our show.

I don’t deny that the TV audience is heterogenous. In fact I never claimed otherwise. But I feel it is too convenient that somehow you seem to have figured that YRHPK’s audience are this elite set of minds and other shows are being watched by dumb wits. Lol Majoirty of TV audience are people who watch TV every day out of sheer habit and to pass time. They don’t necessarily look for good content, just entertainment. So majority of TRP is only coming from such viewers for all shows. Usually it is the people in urban areas who are very choosy about content and such people choose to watch it on OTT platform over TV people. These people are only a very small portion of TV audience. And again the viewership of TV shows itself among such audience would be small in comparison to the majority TV audience I mentioned.

To summarise, I feel it’s just being biased saying that out shows are being watched by brilliant minds who appreciate good wiring and others shows by dumb audience. Unless you have done some kind of research on TV viewership, please don’t make such statements.

Well it mostly was the 2nd most watched show on the channel after YRKKH. Anupama, on the other hand, is now the No.1 show in the channel and almost always in Top 3. So IMO, Anupama is doing better than YRHPK at 10 pm (Please don’t get offended again people; just reasoning based on facts here)

The thing is now the channel would not want to shift Anupama because it is already doing so well at that slot. What is the guarantee that it would rate the same at 9 pm? As long as the show continues to do well, they are not going to shift it from that slot.

well anupama would not rate same at 9 pm but it would rate better than YRHPK and give better competition to other shows. A channel should after all also calculate overall TRP of its shows. I mean its better to have 2 shows coming 2nd on trp rater at particular slot than having one at 1st and other at 4th or 3rd. u send ur best up to compete vs the other best

Well I guess the ad revenue would be more for a show which is in top 3 than shows which are below top 5.
