Yup, the visuals won me over too. I spent years trying to stream it online but they've been really strict about it. I finally watched the drama after it was accessible on YT.

I like lighthearted movies that incorporate hints of reality and glamor/drama to entertain people. I can't watch gloomy movies like Bol, for example. I noticed that some parts of Bin Roye was shot in San Francisco and that helped with the visual appeal too.

They actually used some parts of the movie footage in the drama so the drama also came out really well visually unlike the other Pakistani dramas which are not that competent in the technical department. Their stories and more importantly, the finiteness of them is the main appeal really.

Suno Chanda is very good lighthearted romcom, though the female lead takes some getting used to. Sunn Yaara- lighthearted family drama with a hero who has some majorly strong spine(very rare to come by, in the drama world- if you know what I mean).

I know what you mean by a hero who lacks spine... Ashar from Humsafar. smiley29 in stark contrast with Zaroon from ZND--loved him there!

Ho Mann Jahaan was also easy on the eyes even though it wasn't shot abroad. If there's some color/glamor, I'm in. Yeah the first drama I watched was Humsafar, and while they're "finite," the episodes in between can be really slow and drag. 😆 So I fastforward more often than I probably should.

Lalisa Manoban (Thai: ลลิษา มโนบาล; born Pranpriya Manoban (Thai: ปราณปรียา มโนบาล) on March 27, 1997), better known by the mononym Lisa (Hangul: 리사), is a Thai rapper, singer and dancer based in South Korea as a member of the South Korean girl group Blackpink

Why is this surprising? Thai language has borrowed heavily from Sanskrit. Its parent script is also Pallava which spread through out SE Asia. So lot of Indonesian, Thai have lot of Sanskrit derived words in their languages.

They have their own epic based on Ramayana ..

Thailand Emblem is Garuda

Emblem of Thailand - Wikipedia

KL airport is called Suvarnabhoomi airport. They have a sculpture of Ramayana there too. Very common to see Sanskrit words in Thailand.

Present kings name Vajiralongkorn - Vajra is Diamond in Sanskrit, Longkorn is probably from Alankara - decoration Diamond decoration. Looking at the name itself you can see its from Sanskrit

His father Bhumibol Adulyadej - Bhumi Bal Atulya Tej

Yeah, I saw lot of similarities in both culture when I visited there. Lovely Buddhist temples on every street too.
