I feel that birthdays are way too hyped, says Manasvi Vashist

For most people, birthdays are an occasion to celebrate, but Manasvi Vashist prefers to treat it like “just another day”. The actor, who is currently seen as Aryan Rai Singhania in 'Ishq Mein Marjawan', turns a year younger today (September 1).

Ask the birthday boy about his plans for the day, and he surprises you with his answer. “Honestly, it’s just another day for me. I feel birthdays are way too hyped. After all, it’s just the date you were born on, not the day when Earth came into existence, or the planet was saved from aliens. On my birthday, I prefer to spend time at home, doing nothing. Yes, it’s a good excuse for a day off from work,” he says.

Leave alone grand celebrations, the actor doesn’t believe in expensive gifts either. Wanna know what he is going to gift himself on his birthday? Well, in his own words, “Just a cup of good coffee and watching the sunset (if it doesn’t rain).” Having said that, Manasvi would have loved to replace the coffee with his maa ke haath ka kheer. He says wistfully, “Nothing can beat the kheer my mom used to make on my birthday. I wish I could just travel home (Ambala, Haryana) and pretend I’d never heard of COVID-19.”

In fact, some of his best memories are associated with his growing -up years back home. He shares, “I don’t relish birthday gifts, but the best one so far was when my father surprised me with my favorite bike on my 18th birthday. It was parked outside my home, and nothing can match the happiness I felt back then.”

This year, Manasvi’s birthday has coincided with the last day of Ganeshotsav and he sees it as a blessing. “I am spiritual, and it feels special that my birthday falls on such an auspicious occasion. I was also born on Janmashtami, and I feel that God’s blessings are always with me,” the actor says.

While he doesn’t want any birthday gift, Manasvi sure has a wish. “All I wish for is to have a good day, everyday. And yes, I hope that this stressful situation gets over soon,” he signs off.

I agree, I too don't want to celebrate my birthday in a lavish way, just some time with friends and family is more than enough. No gifts too
