The Abir i knew, stopped mishti from leaving before kuhu's shaadi figured it out that his mother blackmailed mishti, got her back stood up against her. He never gave in to her blackmailing demands. Threatening to leave from the house was a tactic Abir used everytime to make meenu give in to his demand. He even used it during kunal shaadi literally forcing him to marry & meenu was left with no choice back then because he threatened to leave. . what stopped him from telling his mother that he will listen to her demand n leave mishti but will he leave the house and go away forever. she can choose what she wants. If people have another explanation that meenu would still threaten to tell kunal the truth if Abir left then the makers dint show Abir exhausting this option.
And yes i believe he should have told mishti the truth and found out a solution meantime. The Abir i knew before that wouldnt give up so easily. He wouldnt hurt mishti the most where it mattered to her abandonment of loved ones. Abir always knew how to balance his love for mishti n his love for kunal. he dint choose one of them even when kunal asked him to choose one and got distant from him. And till when did he expect that kunal would not know the truth, someday he would know it. he could have slowly told the truth to kunal. he knew how meenu was a bad infuence on kunal and was using his trust on her to the point that he fake married kuhu. If his mother was a villain and would just throw kunal under the bus he should be knowing the real truth and if he believed meenu really loved kunal then he should have realised that meenu wont do anything to destroy kunal. I never saw Abir trying to figure things out and find a way before deciding to break up with mishti.
We have to agree that the breakup and leap was planned by makers to add extra drama and the character of Abir was sacrificed for that. This was not planned initially in the story. And Abirs character was compromised when he was doing kuhu jhaap and left mishti alone at resort too. his character was compromised when he expected mishti only to solve the problem between her n kuhu and forced her to bend. His character is being compromised since the breakup time. varun track was the only time i felt old Abir before breakup was back
And there is nothing to be touchy about Abir. Actually i liked Abir more than mishti. i warmed up to mishti only later when her engagement with kunal broke. But if the makers are compromising on his initial built up character for drama & for their twisted story then i am going to feel that he is acting unlike Abir & I am not going to defend the Abir forced on me by the makers for their extra trp & drama
I agree, Abir’s character arc has been compromised since the breakup track just to create drama and make the leading couple cry and suffer. Both of our leads are excellent actors and so amazing in emotional scenes that CVs separated them to make them cry, suffer, pine for each other and make it a cathartic experience for the viewers.
Given his tactical expertise in foiling Meenu’s evil plans, Abir could have easily avoided breaking Mishti’s heart so cruelly knowing her past of being abandoned by her parents. When Mishbir met in their special spot after his rejection Abir could have told a half truth to Mishti (not revealing his family scandal)saying that his mom is threatening to harm the person he loved the most so he had to temporarily break off with her. Mish is smart enough to guess who he meant, she already knew Kunal’s birth truth, she would have agreed to stay away from him for a few months, she could have gone to Mumbai instead of London and stayed with her friend. Abir and Mishti would secretly stay in touch without Meenu’s or anyone’s knowledge. Then sometime later Abir could have told Kunal the truth and Mishbir would reunite.
But instead he cruelly rejected her and repeatedly denied his love. Even worse came later when he repeatedly rejected her pleas of love after she returned from London. He refused to listen to her explanation after she told Kunal the truth, he raged at her, even pushed her! That was unforgivable!
Yes, he had to repent, he had to do his penance and be repeatedly rejected by her and her family and eventually he had to go through a near death experience to be finally reunited with her.
But again after marriage, Abir was holding Mishti responsible for MishKu fights although he knew Kuhu had spiked the coffee. Does he know yet those pills were meant for Mishti? Wonder how he would react to that!
The problem with Mishbir is they have love, but little trust or honesty in their relationship. Mishti lied to Abir about Rajgarh, if she had told everything about Baba, and Kunal-Parul to Abir right after their goddhana, then Meenu wouldn’t be able to play her dirty games.
If Abir had told her about his mother’s blackmailing he could have spared both of them three months of heartbreak and tears! And almost losing each other!
Even now Abir didn’t trust Mishti’s panicked call about Kuhu’s accident, as a result Mishti’s internal injuries probably worsened.
Honesty and trust are the foundations of love, if foundation is weak, people like Meenu find it easy to break their house of love!
