LOL yeah, she could barely manage to remember KT also...usko bhi PT bol rahi thi😆

Waise I liked that KT managed to make Preeti smile even with his random lines each time he mistakenly thinks she's a fangirl of his....lol....Rajshri portrayed those little smiles very nicely....I'm just struck again and again by the thehraav in their acting. That's probably what's making me watch for now.

Ok, finished catching up on SM epi 2:

Manav ka character KT is quite entertaining....the whole Rajasthani superstar angle is hilarious😆....especially those random disco lights waali videos they were showing of his old films🤣. But he's not being shown as the typical flamboyant OTT superstar, which I'm also thankful for.....he's shown as affable/charming for the most part.

His first meeting with Preeti was nice too....there is a gentle, thehraav waali quality to their interactions....again, it helps so much when you have veteran actors as the leads....they add so much nuance.

The dialogues are clearly going to be witty and kadak cuz Raghuvir Shekhawat ji hain 😆.....aur unko bahut experience hai superstar ke dialogues likhne ka while writing RK in Madhubala.....the "muskuraane ke liye rokda nahin thobda lagta hai" line was🤣

So far, there is a bit of irreverence that I'm liking....even though there is sanskaar ka heavy dose with Preeti being sanskaaron ki murat, the other elements are balanced out.....especially with characters like Kusum....oh lol I've only belatedly remembered her name is RAJESHWARI Sachdev....lol main kal se isko bhi Rajshri soch rahi thi.....haha too many "Raj" waale names.....but yeah today she was hilarious with her fangirling over KT😆.....her equation with Preeti does seem intriguing....faltu ka hate nahin hai...she may maaro tashan of being Preeti's daughter's saas but she doesn't seem to try to put down Preeti.

Bhabho ka cameo bhi tha ismein?🤣.....is she going to be a recurring character? I guess DABH deja vu karna hai....same producers jo hain....lol

The mention of KT ki wife intrigued me....I guess he's either estranged from her or divorced....and I read somewhere that his real wife Shweta Kawatra might be playing that role....lol dekhte hain. Also seems like he belongs to a rich family in Rajasthan....I guess wohi hoga that he will think of starting a business and then Preeti will join him. I wonder though what will make him decide to be a wedding planner😆....Preeti ka toh samajh aata hai....she's already a pro at doing it while planning her son's shaadi.....and aage when bahu-beta kick her out, she will need the job....but why will ex film star KT get into this? Hmm let's see.

Haina I also liked it for the same reasons and didn't get annoyed with the whole fangirling over KT by just and older aunties too caz it was done in a very understated way by normal standards of aajkal ka tv where everything has to be loud and tacky and yup I enjoyed KT ka intro as that had that cool quality to it too without being annoying. Charming for real not made up charming

Preeti is sanskaaron ka bhandar but idk for some reason jer Sanskars don't feel forced in a preachy way they still flow quiete naturally and are embedded nicely like abhi tak I didn't feel that they stick out like a sore thumb like mostly sanskaari people are shown itna repetitive and hammer down ksrte hain ke start main hi one ends up giving up and start rolling their eyes. Idk if it's because of the actors with experience or the makers wanted this organic quality for it. Jo bhi hai I am pleased keep it like this plz I want to keep watching the show for now

Same.. it gives us as viewers a chance to connect to the characters and the show overall when on paper the story is typical cliche but this tehraav gives us time to breathe and digest those typical elements so far too and making the show stand out and watchable for now

Word....I feel it's mostly cuz of the actors....RD (I'm gonna use acronyms, her name is too long :P) is just very good at portraying that sanskaari backdrop without being put on or preachy...maybe cuz she's a veteran TV bahu from the time when the bahus didn't look so artificial and could actually sell the sanskaars in a believable fashion😆. Jo bhi hai, I'm just really enjoying watching the dignity with which she's playing her character even if there are cliched elements like bahu/bete ka atyachaar crap.

For now, even from a writing perspective, the balance is maintained cuz there are characters like Kusum which don't seem like the typical heavy duty saas either....there are shades to her character which make the scenes entertaining rather than putting us off.

And it's the same with Manav and the way he's playing KT....there's an ease about it, that is why it's naturally charming and not put on. Most of the new actors these days try too hard and that is why they end up looking more artificial than naturally charming/cool.

😆😆 I also judged my own judgement on this ke why I am ok with this so far. I Couldn't get is it the execution of the material oR RD whom we grew up seeing as saloni baisa and this feels like an extension of that only hence it feels totally natural and organic to us but again that was more than a decade ago and I am not sure if the hangover could've lasted that long but if it is that than even more commendable it is for makers of SP and RD i must say that we still associate and connect with what that show had to offer ke aaj bhi we see RD in light of that and it's so memorable and worth it jab kal ki SC as anika se aaj SC as whatever she plays connect nahi ho paata as an actress and character we are able to do that with someone who took such a long break. Now I know RD did maharana pratap in between but woh bhi kaafi time ho gaya hai

And this too am so hyped for this one the full film shot on iPhone during lockdown. Roshan Matthew's is fast becoming an actor to watch out for in malayalam films and in such a short time has made his mark and Fahadh toh what can I say he's the absolute BEST give him any role he's the finest of the finest actors we have in today's era this guy never for a moment has an off moment and blahhh character.

LOL you know, you have a point....maybe this is an extension of a kind of nostalgia/attachment we feel with her having seen her in shows when we were younger....but the bigger factor still feels like RD's capability as an artist....a truly versatile actress should be able to sell an emotion no matter how cliched, no? And here, even though we are seeing her in scenes like jodoing haath in front of so many relatives all the time and talking to her daughter about sanskaar and stuff, it still doesn't feel like a turn off.....I've also not fully been able to figure out why I'm not too put off yet😆.....in most other shows, this much level of sanskaar gyaan would make me chuck it instantly😆

Oh RD was awesome in Maharana Pratap yaar....that role she did as Jayawanta Bai....ekdum regal Queen....I guess basically she just has amazing screen presence....and I'm also marveling at how gracefully she's aged....still has amazing skin, no? It's been almost 15 years or so since Saloni....wahaan she was a bahu, now she's a saas but the underlying dignified presence remains.

I guess that's what's standing out....ki no matter what the role...a younger or older one, she is lending a dignity with her presence and it's helping us connect to the character/show.
