True! And Ashu hasn’t seen Sara’s agony at being overlooked by her mom. To an outsider looking in, especially one who knows Ashu’s story and empathizes with him, it’s easy to feel Sara’s in the wrong, but her feelings are valid! They’re facts! They cannot be ignored even if we feel she’s had a more privileged, loved life than Ashu! Sara has her own issues. Her lack of confidence stemming from her looks, and her diffidence in herself as far as her appeal to the opposite sex goes. A lot of that could have come from her mom not putting her first. Not giving her enough attention. Maybe her dad compensated for it, but mother’s love is so important. We saw how the lack of mother’s love made Ashu a jaded, cynical person till Nidhi came into his life. She may have had everything but Sara still feels robbed. It’s just that point in time for the two of them. Ashu is happy, fulfilled, satisfied, he has nothing to complain about and he genuinely doesn’t know he’s wronged his half-siblings, especially Sara. You will notice Jai feels none of the resentment Sara does. This could be because of who Jai is, a more secure, less sensitive individual or someone who hasn’t had to suffer for the lack of mother’s love, because if you remember, Asha showered all the love and affection she felt for Ashu on Jai. Maybe because they were both boys. Maybe because they looked alike.
Whatever the reasons, the facts are that Sara felt neglected by her mom because of her half- brother. Maybe the resentment she feels towards Ashu is unfair, and it might be better directed towards her mom. But human thoughts and feelings are not always rational. Perhaps Ryan can do for Sara what Nidhi did for Ashu.

I really want to focus on the falling in love and building that deep connection part in this fic, since in Lovestruck and LIL they were already in love and both fics dealt with the aftermath rather than the journey of discovery. I want to bring that out in this fic. And my heroes are Ryan and Sara, not Ashu and Nidhi. I know as KTLK fans AshNi will have most readers’ sympathies, but I want my readers to look at this from Sara and Ryan’s point of view. If I don’t succeed in making you love Ryan and Sara then I have failed as a writer.

It is not about not loving Ryan and Sara....

When you look at a character from a distance.....your perception is different but when you go to stay with the person, you get a closer look.....the personality, the care the person takes for you and observing him from close will change your perception to some extent.....
