Honestly, ye pehla aisa show hai jahaan so-called hero itna beemaar or weakling hai, aur villain me jyaada taakat hai. I don't know but there is a particular mystery with regards to Jai. Kuch to jhol hai. Aur aaj to full moon night bhi nahi thi, then why did he fall ill? Another mystery is Veer. Jab cheelon ko afsos nahi hota, then how does he feel remorse or guilt? There is definitely some locha in Veer too, which has of course been triggered after his meeting with Bani. But, these will resolve in upcoming episodes. Here goes my take.
Moments (Good & Bad)
Veer & Bani - All moments are really good. They have more zing and fire within each other. Surbhi was much better today as Bani. Her anger and disgust for Veer came out very well and all the scenes were balanced. Honestly, today they gave me the Damon and Elena vibes. I don't know why its like EK has mixed Pyaar Ki Ye Ek Kahaani and Naagin together for this season. The only difference was unlike Abhay who wanted to protect a rather adamant Piya from his darkness, Veer wants Bani to embrace her darkness and succumb to him. Some of the dialogues which highlight this are:
"Behelo Mat, Behek Jao...Sweetheart, hum dono ke beech sirf ek hi cheez ho sakti hai, tum mere andhere me chamkogi ya phir main tumhare ujaale me"
Damon embraced his darkness with pride and Elena hid the darkness within and did not want to acknowledge that the darkness within her connects with Damon's. Internally she wanted that darkness to consume her, but her humanity constantly pushed her towards denial. Similarly, the darkness of Aakesh was rather seductive for Naageshwari but she pushed him away because her humanity would not allow it. Basically, Naageshwari or Bani's steadfast denial stems from the fact that they constantly deny their darkest instincts the satisfaction they crave. Both know Aakesh and Veer can satisfy their darkest desires to a point it consumes them, so their humanity or good side is stopping them to succumb to it by covering it in hate or disgust. Naageshwari hated Aakesh because probably she wanted him. And a similar thing is happening to Bani.
"Chamkoge nahi jaloge, jal jal ke maroge, aur mere kareeb aane ki koshish ki na, to jala dungi tumhe"
As I pointed out, this is Bani's natural reaction to Veer, or rather Naageshwari's reaction to Aakesh. See, firstly both are animals, and animals can never have human instincts. But since they are shapeshifters, they by choice embraced humanity. On the surface, it shows Bani's disgust for Veer, but deep down she hates the fact that it is so easy for him to seduce the darkness or "buraai" that lays dormant within her. She is all the more disgusted because she wants it and cannot have it. She is not so openly bad as Veer is. Veer is okay being bad because there isn't any hypocrisy involved. Jo hai, jaisa hai, thik hai. Lekin Bani bhi ultimately Naagin hai. She is grey lekin usko woh baat accept nahi karni ki woh hai.
"Itna bhi mat chipaana ke kahin meri burai ko apne gale me laga ke ghumna pade"
This just plain and simple points out to how Veer perceives what being "evil" is. I mean he embraces his evilness with pride, but he is correct to point out that she is not as good as she thinks she is because she too hides her dark side from view. Aur point out karne se woh "badtameez" ban jata hai, conveniently. I mean jab uska Naagin transformation hua, tab to un cheelo ki aarti to utaaregi nahi na, maar hi degi na. So match ka score even ho gaya. Cheel Nagas ko marte hai aur Nagas Cheelo ko. I just hope that Bani, at least to herself once accepts that Veer affects her in some way, which Naageshwari never did. Cos this story is new, and things will repeat but not the same as last time. Aur haan Veer, teri burai woh gale me laga ke hi ghumegi, usko mangalsutra kehte hai, aur woh bhi black hi hota hai teri tarah.😆 Some other dialogues which were quite quirky and fun were:
"Bhaiya bola meri jaan nikal gayi"😆
"Jaan lene wala jaan bachayega...kyunki ab usko uski jaan mil gayi hai"❤️
"Tumpe main kabhi bharosa nahi kar sakti...lekin main tumpe har baat ke liye bharosa kar sakta hu, I don't know why"❤️
"Lute huye aashiqo ki baat hi yahi hoti hai, kambakht shaayar bade kamaal ke hote hai."😆
Moving on,
Jai & Bani - They are not, will not, cannot be lovers. There is nothing in the world that convinces me of that. The connection is unconvincing, the concern, the guidance is unconvincing. Aur ye chala hai uski madad karne, yeah right. Jitne speed se ye Nag rengte hue pahuchega na, uski double speed se Veer on his bike do bar pahunch jayega. Kar kya raha hai ye ladka? Inke beech doston wali chemistry ban sakti hai, if they work on it, but lovers wali bilkul nahi. And ye Bani ko kal "pehle pyaar ka ehsaas" huya tha na Jai ke liye. Agle hi din phittus. I mean dono ke interaction me na naye naye pyaar wali awkwardness hai, aur na koi aur feeling. Then why are they even pursuing this couple? Honestly, I only feel one thing for this jodi. In the past, Hriday was a safe haven for Naageshwari, because he was a Nag, she knew him well and so he was the Mr.Good Boy who can be taken to meet the family. But problem tab huya, jab Aakesh aa gaya. And for the first time as a shapeshifter, she felt a very foreign sentiment, something more desirable, more consuming. Something which she never felt with Hriday. But who she felt for - Aakesh, the cheel, her natural mortal enemy. Naagin instincts voted against it and so did human instincts. And ethically, having a joda and feeling for someone else, also she did not want to pursue. So she just covered it up with disgust, conditioned hate for cheels. But the awkwardness she felt with his gaze on her, how his eyes made her feel more beautiful and desirable is something she liked. She cannot deny that. Bani will go through the same. She will use Jai as a fallback to avoid Veer and his darkness, but Veer will not give up so easily.
Nag/Naagin transformation - I am rather surprised by Jai's transformation. I mean it felt like his human and serpent forms are in conflict with each other. Why? Why is it so difficult to transform? What is wrong with him? He died by murder, not curse, then what is wrong with him. Itna thakela aur weak Nag? Kuch samajh nahi aaya. On the other hand, there was a smooth transition for Bani into Adi Naagin. But why did she transform into Noor and then Adi Naagin, is something everybody asked? I have a theory.
Like I said, in a thread, I think Adi Naagin is setting up a trap for her Cheel enemies. Bani went to the police station who deleted the video. They warned Balwant, who sends Shukla's sons to kill Bani and the witness, who very conveniently turns out to be a Naagin. She also informs Veer about eyewitnesses, which weren't present there that night, as far as I know, so how did Bani know? Veer questions his brothers and Balwant gets to know. And then the cheels chase Naina into a cave and corner her and Bani. Bani very conveniently disappears and appears as Noor first and then Adi Naagin. This could be the beginning of her revenge plan to destroy the cheels for good, who destroyed her 10,000 years ago. Which would be a real googly, because here all think Adi Naagin does not remember, but in fact, she remembers all, and everything that happened till now, is an elaborate trap for her enemies - the Cheels.
Or if we go simply by what we saw till now, Bani in a bid to save Naina spontaneously transforms into a Naagin and undergoes her 1st transformation, and since she is a novice as a human, she transformed into Noor and then Adi Naagin. Which, IMO, is hard to believe. So I think, the first scenario could play out or hamara next week bahut bada popat banne wala hai.
Other Observations:
- Yaar, ek baat batao. Chote bhaiyon ko pata hai, that Singhanias engage in flesh trade. But Bade bhai Veer ko pata nahi. Why? Woh to bura hai, cheel hai? To uska batane se kya bigad jaayega? Ya phir jitna bura usse batate ho, usse kahin jyada hi acha hai woh, isiliye darr rahe ho Ballu ji. Kuch to solid panga hai is Ballu ka.
- Ye Tapish bhai, as in Veer ke bade bhai to Bani ke Meera di jaise hi hai. Muh me zubaan nahi hai dono ki hi. Upar se dono ke bhai and behen - as in Bani and Veer me, bhar bhar ke daring hai. Difference sirf itna hai that ek apni burai ko chupata nahi, aur dusri apni burai ko apnati nahi. Sahi couples banenge, bade aur chote.😉
Anyway, ranted for too long. This was my take for tonight. Do share your thoughts on the same. Would love to hear it.😊
