I'd love to know what exactly is this struggle that Kareena is referring to. These people really think folks can't see through their BS statements....right. Imagine someone talking about struggling after literally every other role is handed to them on a silver platter. They seriously are so blinded by their privilege that they can't see anything beyond it and in order to try and bridge the gap will talk about their non existent struggle!🙄
Exactly, that's the point. They don't admit that they are privileged and think that all the success they have got is because of the struggle and hard work. I mean in which world 😏
Except, they don't just have a leg up in terms of coaching materials, but the privilege to get into better schools from the very beginning based on money and legacy, access to better internships, and job placements, when you're dealing with colleagues and friends of your parents. They've also been steeped in the profession even before they started studying, they have insights into the careers and what's needed to succeed outside of tested job skills. And Drs and lawyers are on the far end of the regulatory spectrum. I certainly wouldn't put journalists on the same level - especially the current click bait lot. Of course acting is not a regulated career but very few jobs are strictly merit based.
@Bold - you still need to pass entrance tests, signifying minimum qualification. Then, you actually have to pass the exams before moving to the next level. Eventuality, you have to actually get your degree.
@Red. As someone in one of those professions, I can tell this this is not accurate. A gynecologist's daughter is not going to know how to extract a baby without going through training. A GP's son is not automatically learn bedside manner. Indeed, he might understand less about interpersonal interaction than an outsider who came up the hard way.
Privilege exists. You're never going to make it go away unless you rip kids from parents' households and put everyone in a child farm where it will then be survival of the fittest.
Point is that what KKK and her ilk does goes beyond privilege or even not admitting privilege. They bully and harass any outsider who has the temerity to peek into their hallowed profession. I'm sure similar issues exist in other professions, but nowhere close to Bollywood.
No one expects her to admit any of it, of course. Least she could do was say yes, I did get opportunities because of family name, and I'm thankful for it. I wish anyone who wants to be an actor the best. Instead, she talked about her "struggle." It's like Schwarzenegger whining about his struggle to reach up and get a can not being as interesting as Danny DeVito's WHILE the Governator slams Danny's head to the floor.
Abraham Lincoln quote for her - Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

His family love proclaiming themselves as "elites" and "intellectuals", i would love to read this long letter... does anyone have a link?
Saif Uncle should help unapologetic Kareena , get a college degree and help her with studies.

One more : " I don't even look at that I have anything because of my privilege background . It might sound weird but probably my struggle is there. My struggle is probably is not interesting as someone who comes on a train with Rs. 10 in pocket. It's not been that and I can't be apologetic about it. May be thats more interesting but I also have a story. Everyone has a story to tell." 😆
So Kareena's struggle story isn't interesting as someone who did so much hardwork to get that one role in movie. Not denying that everyone has a story to tell but a person who makes it on his or her own will always get more respect because that's not an easy job. That's not interesting story but a reality where people do lot of hardwork to reach where they are today. Like Siddhant said about struggle and Sapne.
@ bold Srcasm much.. How ignorant ..how ignorant man..
