Ever since I was blindsided by the news that SSR's father has filed an FIR(First Information Report) with Bihar police, this question popped into my head. By all means, the crime scene, the criminals, the victim, everyone was in Mumbai. So ideally he should've filed the case with Mumbai police.
Even the most extreme of nepotism-defenders agreed that SSR's family is classy and dignified. They did not do any randi-rona (whining), no sensational interviews, etc. They took their time, and then filed their complaint. But why Bihar? Why not Mumbai?
My thoughts:
They don't have faith in Mumbai police, and think Mumbai police is steering the investigation in the wrong direction.
Bhatts are involved in this dirty mess.
Bollywood has a tight nexus with Mumbai Police - Bollywood hosts an annual fundraiser for MuPo and is likely very close to top officials.
Consider this: the low-ranked police officer (Ravindra Patil) who was the witness in Salman's infamous driving case, had to die a really sorry death. All for his honesty.
I also have a suspicion that this was not a suicide, but a planned murder. But that is besides the point.
What are your thoughts?
Disclaimer: I'm a Bihari, but don't think that impacts my judgement above, or in general the impact SSR's death had on me.
