Three-Quarters of Recovered Coronavirus Patients Have Heart Damage Months Later, Study Finds

Of the 100 patients studied, 78 had lingering heart damage despite being “mostly healthy … prior to their illness”

The researchers examined cardiac MRIs from 100 recovered COVID-19 patients between the ages of 45 to 53, and compared them to MRIs of similar people who did not contract the virus. Most of the COVID-19 patients had recovered at home, while 33 had to be hospitalized at some point in their illness.

Of the 100 COVID-19 patients, 78 had structural changes to their hearts. Within that group, 76 had a biomarker that is typically found in patients who had a heart attack, and 60 had heart inflammation, called myocarditis. The patients were all “mostly healthy … prior to their illness,” the researchers said.

In this case relying on herd immunity is a terrible mistake. People may never recover from this fully and may result in future fatalities too or long term side effects. Vaccine may also have it's own set of side effects. Now the only thing left is to see which one is less harmful.

Is any national media coverying this anymore? There is no discussion no debate given to these issues. Is this a way to keep the panic down and let people live in their bubble? I find regional news channels so much better in this regard each day they hold a new discussion related to this. At least helps in being updated. Not knowing would give me more anxiety than I m already living with.

Out of sight,out of mind.

This is not just here, no one is covering it.

As long as people get healthy and get back to work we are fine is the thought process.

We are now just gonna use sero survey to justify herd immunity.

I don't understand the way this virus affects ppl at all. One of my friend had fever for 1hr and was fine and her husband had fever for 1 day. She had traveled from India to US. My mom got news that her remote village in India 90% are infected. None showing any symptoms. They got to know they have Covid cos one of the bed ridden 90 yr old passed away due to Covid. Rest probably 20-30 ppl are asymptomatic when they got their result. Ofcourse no one wears mask in a rural village, no disinfecting, no social distancing ..
