That one is indeed hauntworthy , if there is such a word....:)

I even loved the title song...haven’t stopped humming it since...:)

Apparently the movie had budget issues, then why the hell did Chaabra want to go Paris for the whole meeting the singer scene? They could have gone to any place in India as well rather than wasting money in Paris when the movie was already going through budget issues.

Honestly, if this wasn’t Sushant’s last movie I think I’d feel very differently about this movie than I do now. Mostly because I’m such a huge fan of The Fault in Our Stars, and there were some details that this movie truly just didn’t do justice to. Like especially with the Saif’s character and really explaining his importance to the two main characters, because it’s his novel that really makes Hazel (Kizzy) feel a connection, like that’s how her story will go and she spends so much time fixated on that part of her life and on her “cancer story” as Gus (Manny) calls it. But then when the author of this transformative story is so horrible and they see the Anne Frank house it’s like she realizes the importance of having a life outside of her cancer story and that’s when she accepts Gus’ affections and allows herself to reciprocate them. Changing that setting to Paris so we don’t get the moment in the Anne Frank house, not fleshing out Saif’s character properly, and just other moments of choppy editing didn’t do justice to the book. Also, I always thought it was great that they showed Ansel Elgort (who played Gus) have stiffness in his walk and stuff because it was more real, so as nice as the dancing was in the title track, etc. it annoyed me a bit that they romanticized the situation.

And yet, despite all of this, I loved Sushant’s performance so much, and will always love this film for him. I wish we could have gotten many more performances like this from him. I’m reminded of Hazel comparing herself to a grenade now when I think of Sushant, because his death has truly left that kind of painful impact on his family members and loved ones.

The film was good , the kami that was there in the film was the editing and length of the film

I always enjoy a film which makes me laugh as well as cry , this film did

Sushant is always best in every character he does so obviously he was best in this one

I loved how he did the simple scenes with so much charm I always feel the simple scenes are the more difficult ones

Sanajana was ok not great not bad

I loved the actors who played her parents especially the father his scene with Manny ❤️

They should have used the last chapter of the book though , Saif's character should have reappeared.

I cried a lot in the last 20 mts , this film was like a prophecy of some sort even the end , ppl Manny loved watching his film in the end and here ppl who loved Sushant watching his film ...

Anyways chodo the main concept what I interpreted of the book was about how the biggest reality of life is death and how one has to accept his/her fate ultimately like Manny ultimately stopped being a fighter 💔. How one has to make peace with the fact he/she has lost his/her loved ones. How things don't have a closure everytime , how things are not complete in life or how life is sort of incomplete always.

.

Good bye Sushant. Good bye

I would have given it a 3 out of 5. SSR was really amazing and he's the only reason I watched this movie. A.R. Rahman's music hadn't impressed me separately, but in the movie it just fits in so well. Dil Bechara stood out a bit. It wasn't really needed and the choreography was a bit weird, but SSR just made it great.

Choreography for that song, as I suspected , was lighter because they had to make it look realistic with his leg and all...I somehow thought that fit in really well!

Ah that explains the choreography. I meant fit in the story. It seemed a bit out of place. But then the editing was bad, so it could just have been an editing issue.
