It was kind of okay.

I found it more from Amy's point of view. Liked Florence Pugh though. And they almost made Jo write a marriage proposal letter to Laurie! Lol! That would never happen.

What about you?

Similar views- I never thought Amy and Laurie made any sense until this movie. Greta Gerwig really prioritised Amy’s POV which made her more likeable than the book. Specially the scene about her being second best to Jo in everything, it humanized her character a lot.

I loved Saoirse and Timothee’s chemistry as Jo and Laurie. Their friendship seemed so effortless and they lit up the screen together.

Also enjoyed that they brought out the obvious parallel between Louisa Alcott and Jo’s character.

On the things I didn’t like-

1. Emma Watson didn’t fit as Meg to me

2. They went so off-canon with Jo writing that love proposal letter to Laurie because she felt lonely. No!!!

3. I didn’t like that they chose a really handsome guy to play Bhaer. Jo chose an unconventional looking, older, not well off, foreign man i.e the exact opposite of Laurie, and I wish they had stuck to it

Well put 👌⭐️

But disagree on the 3rd point. I didn't mind the young, hottie professor Bhaer, but that's just my tharki heart.🤣 I get your point though.👍🏼

Thappad:

A nice movie with domestic feeling and beautiful message.

Its slow pace might bug some people but I pereonally liked the way it was written and presented.

Taapsee was good as Amrita (protagonist). The older generation actors like Ratna Pathak Shah, and Tanvi Azmi were amazing in their respective roles. Special mention to Kumud Mishra who nailed the role of Amrita's father. Other cast members also did a decent job.

Invincible on Disney+

A story on Vince Papale who was a bartender who got picked up by Philadelphia eagles when they had an open tryout. His journey.

Amazing movie of a journey from a bartender to a success story.

Mark Wahlberg really did well.

8/10

Just watched Barfi..❤️This movie, god!!! How could I miss this masterpiece.

Barfi and Jhilmil...wow....so brilliant performance by both Ranbir and Priyanka.

Everything, just everything was perfect!!! Story, actors were definitely brilliant. Another thing I loved is how they placed the sequences, just made us surprised everytime, and that too in a good way. I want to write so many things, may will edit later...

So well spent unslept night.

Dil Bechara ❤️

* SPOILERS AHEAD *

Had to watch it twice to actually assimilate the film, even though 'The Fault In Our Stars' is one of the most special stories for me for it's the first book ever that actually made me cry and stirred me when I was a teenager.

The first time I watched went like a blur and I barely could focus especially during the last twenty minutes or so because I was bawling my eyes out. And I'm pretty sure that I've never cried that much for any movie. Ever.

Why? It's quasi impossible not to identify bits and pieces of Sushant Singh Rajput in Immanuel Rajkumar Junior/Manny... The same genuine, filmy love for his favourite hero (just like his love for SRK in real life), the same passion, the adorable and playful side, and the charm that sweeps you off your feet. Needless to say, the uncanny parallels to real life that the dialogues establish and the tragic ending make Manny the character that stays with you at the end of the movie. It's a very emotional tribute to a gem lost too, too soon regardless of any kind of flaws.

Now coming to the part where I use my brain, yes, it's not at all a perfect movie. Noticed quite a few flaws the second time I watched it, starting from clumsy editing to a pretty weak screenplay to not-so-smooth transitions from scene to scene and slightly half-baked character development. I feel that a few scenes failed to bring the right emotions because they tried to distinguish this one from the American adaptation of TFIOS - however, in trying to do so, for example they've removed essential aspects of Augustus's (Manny's) character that would have been impactful - like the side of his that wants to do a lot of stuff and become someone renown to be remembered posthumously. That facet if his wasn't developed in Dil Bechara even though Manny talks about it, so something feels amiss according to me. Another thing, Kizie's mom becoming an open-minded teasing mom from an overprotective one once in Paris felt sort of felt weird to me tbh.

But all of that aside, the emotions that only those last 20 minutes evoked in me would be enough for me to give a 5/5.

Actingwise, Sushant's performance was all heart. The desi version of Augustus Waters is made for a natural, charming and handsome actor of his calibre. His Manny makes you laugh, cry and touches your heart. His performance in the theatre scene, the rain scene and the scene where Kizie confesses her love for him will stay with me. Sanjana Sanghi is quite promising, although a little raw. The second time I watched, I noticed that she slightly faltered in the main emotional scenes but Sushant's presence made up for those in most of them. Sahil Vaid, Saswata Chatterjee (he was AMAZING) and the actress who plays Kizie's mom were brilliant. Saif had a small cameo but I couldn't connect with that scene tbh - again they shortened that pivotal scene for unknown reasons. Another thing that didn't 100% convince me was Shashank Khaitan's idea of replacing the book that Hazel (Kizie) is passionate about ("An Imperial Affliction" in TFIOS) by a song ("Main Tumhara" in Dil Bechara). But then the beauty of the song somehow made up for that bizarre replacement.

Coming to the music, I'm probably one of the few who has enjoyed practically every single AR Rahman album, and this one is no less, to say the least. It's studded with gems, especially Taare Ginn and Main Tumhara. The Dil Bechara title track grew on me so much, and I can't stop humming it.

'Taare Ginn' is such a sweet rendition to blooming love by Shreya Ghoshal and Mohit Chauhan, and it has gorgeous music. The piano parts ❤️ The full music video of Taare Ginn and the phone conversation that follows are probably the sweetest portions of the movie

And last but definitely not the least, 'Main Tumhara'... That song is easily the soul of the movie. It's haunting torture, albeit a sweet one, because while it's absolutely beautiful and soulful, the lyrics and the music punch you in the gut, reminding you that this is Sushant Singh Rajput displaying his brilliance for the last time.

I don't know if it's just my overthinking self that's causing me to shatter my own heart but the prophetic nature of the song gives me goosebumps. It's like he's saying "Tum na huye mere toh kya, main tumhara main tumhara sitara raha" as in even though we haven't been there for him as an audience, he's still there, our shining star... And now he's become one.

All in all, it's a sweet movie, and as imperfect as it is, it's the perfect goodbye for this incredibly talented star ❤️

"Okay? Okay." will never be the same for me anymore. It's now always gonna be "seri".

The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir

Having read the book I was intrigued to see a movie made on the subject. Book is one of the quirkiest book to say the least . Very entertaining and sometimes silly but never boring.

Movie differs in parts and is as entertaining as the book. It’s funny and quite emotional masked in humor. The plight of refugees is shown in a comedic way. Poverty is highlighted too.

The cast has done an amazing job. No fake indian over dramatic accent to emphasize like “anDDDD” . Dhanush is at ease and possibly was the best choice. His performance is restrained and amazing.

The kid does his job amazingly.

Finally after a month a half watched a movie other than DB and Sonchiriya
