I'm not denying that likes of Alia and RK didn't get it easy. Of course they did but they're someone who actually worked hard and proved they deserve the chance. Even if RK was an outsider, I would have rooted for him despite his many flops because he is one of a kind actor (in my opinion). Same goes for Shahid, he is a fab actor and number of flops wont change that.
If you want to judge acting then flops or hits shouldnt matter. Btw RK had Bachena Ae Haseeno, Wake up Sid and Ajab prem after Sawariya (all hits) so I dont know why he wouldn't have survived after Sawariya. A lot of newcomers first films have flopped but then they go on to do well. Just see Amiyabh Bachan's filmography, his first movie failed and so did many after that but that didnt stop him from becoming Indias biggest star.
Yeah its easier for starkids but not all products of nepotism are bad.
They didn't have to prove anything, they didn't earn their debuts, they were given to them. After Saanwariya, he proved he wasn't worthy, and still he was given movies, Alia was asked if she ever had to struggle, her answer was, she called up Imtiaz and told him she'd be very disappointed if he didn't choose her, talk about the heights of entitlement.
Ranbir is way too lazy, he doesn't have the perseverance and the drive that an outsider needs to make it in this industry. His surname is both, the reason he got into movies, and why he is hyped up. It also plays a part in his appeal, he is a 4th generation Kapoor, his status definitely has has influence on perception, the industry wants him to succeed,
According to boxofficeindia, Wakeup Sid and Bachna Ae Haseeno were both semi-hits, a semi-hit is about as much of a hit as a semi-circle is a circle.
