The blame should be on those who told her that she would be able to justice to such a role.
We cannot blame an actress for wanting to play challenging roles

I disagree with you on this because u posted so many topics when chhapak wasn't released that Deepika gonna be the queen of BW but after its failure you can't run away from it. I am a DP fan too but you have to admit that her eyes are expressive, she can emote but her dialogue delivery is mediocre.
Bold: yes. And she should leverage that aspect. Girl can benefit from watching some Fahadh Fasil movies. He is brilliant in emoting with eyes, but dialogue delivery is hit or miss (most of the time average)

okay then how about deepika herself...considering she was the producer of the film? đ¤Ą

Let see Meghna gulzar after two critically and commercially acclaimed films. Deepika with her below average acting skills and non existent star power. And her attention seeking talent. Ofcourse i blame Deepika.

I fell in love with her after watching the scene after Balam Pichkari. She emoted so well there. Her eyes blazed the screen.

Umm bad writing and bad direction can affect any actor's performance. What shocks me is Megha Gulzaar quality of writing and direction went so down with one movie. đ
Meghna Gulzaar has the soul of a documentary maker. Rather than delving into the emotional maelstorm of her character's psyche she always gives an impartial outsiders view. Her dad Gulzaar's films are quite the same. I believe Karan Johar helped in making Raazi more 'commercial' and palatable to the general audience. Deepika should have done the same for Chapaak since she was the producer. But instead she totally trusted her director's vision.
