Part 55

You know when you think you know someone? More than anyone in the world? You know you know them, because you've seen them, like, for real. And then you reach out, and suddenly they are just... gone. You though you belonged together. You thought they were yours, but they're not. You want to protect them, but you can't.

Having something and losing it, it's so much crueler than never having had it.

Few hours later

It's very hard... its very hard to believe when you lost some thing precious actually very precious to you. That some thing which you longed to see from long time. Isn't it very cruel. Yeah actually cruel, how could be god so merciless toward those people who waited..waited and keep waiting dont know for how long..

Completely shattered, broken, expressionless virat sat in the garden area of hospital. He was going through so many emotions at that time. Life always played a very cruel game with him. Whenever he thought that his life is going smoothly now but something very bad happened always and put him back on the same place where he was before. Is it too much to ask a little amount of happiness? Why god is always unfair to those who longed only for happiness of their loved ones.. nothing else..

His head buried inside his palm of hands and mind was clouded with thought of manvi and her behavior toward him once she woke up. He was scared.. scared of loosing her once again and he didn't know how would he face her..

Flashback

"Mr. Vadhera we can save only one. So it's up to you that whom u want save. Mother or child" dr. Arhoi declared and everyone was in daze. They knew that manvi's pregnancy was complicated but they never knew that they will have to choose one of them.

Virat stood expressionless there without any emotions. They were waiting for his answer though they knew what would be his answer and they too wanted the same..

"I can't.. I cant choose one of them. I want both of them alive" he whispered to himself but audible enough to reach everyone's ears. He stepped back a little and his back hit nearby wall. He joined his hand in front of doctor "please arohi.. I want to see both my child and manvi. Please save both of them.. please" he pleaded and a tear rolled down his cheek but he immediately wiped it. Arohi looked defeated at him as it was really hard for her to say that 'dont worry I will save both of them' coz she knew the condition of manvi. She gulped the lump in her throat and made a strong face

"Mr. Vadhera I can understand what you are going through. But I have already told u about the consequences. It's already really hard to save any of them but in case we are able to save any of them we want to know whom would you save" she spoke professionally this time. Because she couldn't get weak.

"No...no....please dont say that" he shook his head blankly as if he was just a statue. He didn't want to lose his child and manvi. He promised to her that he will not let happen anything to them but he was failing now keeping his promise.

"Virat" this time kd spoke seeing her son's condition. She could understand the situation her son was going through. "You have to stay strong.. not for us but for manvi. It's time to fight. You can't lose like this. It's a bitter truth beta and you have to accept this" kd tries to make her son understand with so much understanding, love n care for her son. Virat looked helplessly at his mother and everyone was waiting for his answer..

"But mom" he whispered in low yet audible voice but soon interrupted by arohi who was waiting for his answer..

"Mr. Vadhera we don't have much time so please hurry up" she demanded for an answer because she can't take any risk.

"Manvi" virat spoke hurriedly and as expected everyone knew his answer. They were happy that he chosen manvi and they were proud on him. Arohi nodded and hurriedly walked inside operation theater after assuring him n other family member...

"Virat" inder spoke placing his hand on virat's shoulder "beta dont worry.. everything will be fine" he tried to assure his shattered son though he knew that nothing would gonna fine now. Virat didn't react and just walked away from them without uttering any word...

Flashback end

He was still there, heavy rain was pouring on him making him fully drench in this icy cold weather but he didn't flinch even a little bit. He was just lost.. lost somewhere he never wanted to come back. He wanted to live in those memories of his and his manvi but he have to come back.. he have to come back on earth to face the cruel reality of his life.

He knew that he has lost his love, he has lost his manvi now. She would never forgive him. And why would she? After all he failed to keep his promise. He promised her to save their child but he was helpless. How could he let his love die in front of him. He knew that their child would be come back some day but if he had lost manvi then there was no chance that he would let himself live on this earth without his manvi.

"Promise me virat.. no matter what happens you will save our child. Promise me"

Her words keep ringing in his mind like a fire alarm and he was unable to get rid of those words. He felt like he had ditched his love, actually he had murdered his love with his own hands. He covered his ears with his both hands and screamed her name loudly..

"MANVI!!!!!" he screamed in a heart wrenching tone crying out loudly "I am sorry.. I am really sorry.. but I didn't have any other option. I am really sorry.. sorry" he felt defeated, helpless at the same time. He was mourning over his fate which always betrayed him but now it's time to face the challenges of destiny. He couldn't run anymore. Today or some other day he have to face it then why not now. He can't run away like a coward.

Scene inside the hospital

Virat stood outside the ICU and his eyes were set on manvi as he watched her through the glass window. His heart wrenched with unbearable pain and he died thousands of time when he saw the love of his life laid unconsciously and was attached to ventilator machine. She was looked pale and restless even in unconscious state. He cursed himself and his luck which brought him into this state. Couldn't able to see her anymore he turned around closing his eyes and stick his back to the glass door and slide down.

He sat outside the ICU for long time and was lost in his thoughts. Lost in his own worl of misery and pain. His world has been collapsed in just a blink of an eye and he was able to do nothing. He never felt so much helpless like the way he was feeling right now.

"Virat bhaiya" arohi who was watching him from few minutes finally break the silence. Virat looked at her with teary eyes and he didn't hide those tears. Arohi's eyes filled up seeing him in this condition. She could feel his emotions after all she was going to be a part of his family. So basically she belonged to vadheras.

"I..I am so..sorry bhaiya" she stuttered while speaking. She was unable to speak anymore as words were afraid to come out. They stayed there in complete silence

"Was it a girl or boy?" Virat asked suddenly and his heart gripped with unbearable pain. It was too much difficult for him to accept the bitter reality of his life but he could do nothing just mourn over his fate.

"A girl" arohi replied instantly "baby girl" she whispered again. Virat just closed his eyes as tears made it's way down his cheeks..

"Can I see her please" he felt a sudden urge to see his princess though he knew it was going to be difficult but he couldn't stop himself asking her to see his daughter. Arohi just nodded and motion him to come with her.

Room was dimly lit and there was complete silence prevailed in the room. There were five to six cots placed in the room. Virat's heart throbbed loudly under his chest and he felt his feet glued to the floor as he was unable to walked ahead. Arohi stood near the cot which was belong to him, her heart was heavy and she wanted to cry but she couldn't because it was not in her profession. She have to behave strong and wall of relationships couldn't come between her profession.

On the other hand virat stood still without moving an inch. He didn't have the courage to look upon his princess but he wanted to see her, he wanted to see his piece of heart which left them without living the beauty of life. After gathering his inner strength and encouraging himself he start moving toward the cot. Every inch of his body and soul was paining and cursing his luck.

Finally after a long inner turmoil he reached near the cot and his eyes instantly landed on his angel. That was it, he fell on his knees motionlessly and felt like his soul left his body to never come back. Tears made it's way down his cheeks shattering his heart and soul completely. He wanted to cried out loudly, he wanted to scream, he wanted to pull his hairs till they come out of its roots. He lost the bundle of his joy, he lost his angel, she was his and manvi's dream. How could god become so merciless toward them.

He watched his baby with painful eyes and felt like she was just sleeping and would wake up soon crying out loudly but alas it was not gonna happen b'coz she wasn't with them anymore. She left them to never come back.

Virat extended his shivering hands to hold his piece of heart and finally he engulfed her in his arms but not crushing her and cried out loudly. He hold her protectively to his heart. Tears of pain were continously pouring out from his eyes. He never cried this much in his whole life except when his grandfather has been expired.

"I am sorry baby.. I am really sorry. Please forgive your dady..please" he apologize to the little girl who was in her dad's embrace.

"Please come back baby..please" he pleaded to his little girl showering his face with kisses. His heart ached with unbearable pain. "Please come back to your momma papa please" he kept pleading her and hopping for miracle happen but he was not that lucky..

He kept crying over his fate and wasn't ready to leave his little girl. He was completely broken and devastated state and he knew manvi will be more broken and shatter once she woke up and find out about their baby's dismissal. It wouldn't be easy to mend her broken heart if she come to know the truth. He knew how much it would be difficult for him to handle her b'coz he had already faced that state of her when he found her for the first time.

That was an unfortunate fate written by god for him. But did he deserve that? Did manvi deserve this cruel fate of her life? She had never think or done anything wrong then why this has happened with her? What will happen when she will found out that the happiness she was waiting for long time are no more. Would she able to survive? What would be her reaction and her relation with virat after that?
