In the old days, I think many of them put on painted bindis...in old movies I've seen many women smear their bindis dramatically when they became windowed.

You're right...it's because she's stressed. I totally understand her situation because I was in her shoes last year...you just have to push through it and then when you finally get accepted, it feels like something heavy is lifted off your chest...
