In the 1990s things were very different. There were not too many actors and you could make hits out of less than mediocre movies because we didn’t have too many options. Especially for the majority of the Indian population that didn’t watch western movies.

By the time Akshay Kumar into 2000s he had already been around for a very long time. Plus he is one of those actors who embrace changes and he has done variety of movies by then. He did a lot of movies every year so was never out of audience’s mind, apart from being very hard working. So he thrived.

Things have changed drastically now with so many online platforms, people watch not only Hollywood but world movies. With the advent of media and accessibility of internet etc, if a movies is a disaster people know it sooner and they won’t watch it. People are now preferring content oriented stuff, which is refreshing.

True but there are 200 or 300 films made in India. You said yourself so man actors now. Theres work for everyone. An Ive always believed no work is pre made special. Its upto the actor/actress to make it special

I can’t believe you collected all that data.

But there is an issue with the sampling. I think you should do that for all actors from 1980 to YTD.. that would be more believable.

You can’t accept or reject a hypothesis on a faulty data. Can’t disagree more.

I dunno man. Let’s take into consideration that Kareena still got offered a movie after that coma-inducing performance she gave us in Mein Prem Ki Dewaani Hoon. Let us commemorate the survivors of that traumatic experience by a moment of silence please. Lest we forget. Lest we forget.

So the same reasons won't apply to STAR KIDS, but easily can be applied for OUTSIDERs?

We have sleep-inducing performances from all OUTSIDERs who now face of Current Hot Topics, that they should be promoted, if we can bear them, why can't others.

I believe, fast forwards 10 years. People won’t pay attention to crappy movies. The audience is getting mature. May be we will go back to the golden age of Indiana cinema.

The problem with less competition and things being handed out on a platter is that mediocrity thrives. Which isn’t good for the industry to flourish. At the end of the day it’s up to the maturity and sensibility of the audience.

Mera naam joker hai was a disaster at the box office. It was way ahead of its time, but its a masterpiece and denoted as a classic today.

Being a box office hit isn’t necessarily indicative of the acting powress of the movie, or it being a good movie.

That will even bring more weight to OUTSIDERs failures, do you want more names?
