Great post. When I am depressed and don't feel like meeting anyone, I eat a lot or go out to watch a movie or just roam around the city. Is that healthy?
Even I used to eat a lot in my dark days....try talking to someone.... anyone, but all I can say is it okay to not be okay. Yes the fact that you go out and move around is a good thing to do, rather than cooping up in a corner. But now its totally opposite like my appetite goes for a toss when I'm not feeling okay.
Lovely post. This has shook me too, metal health is as important as anything else.

It's okay to not feel hungry. Overeating would cause other complications. It is best to just keep yourself busy in activities like watching movie, going to your favourite dining place or jogging. I feel that's why one should keep a pet dog at home. During loneliness, they are man's best friend. They might even prevent you from committing any harakiri.

I'm feeling a bit (quite a lot) empty since the news this afternoon. Do drop a way to let me pass this time offđ
You're still in the processing stage. During this the response is either fight, flight or freeze. Your response has been to freeze. Our brain functions on rationalising a situation so once you reach the stage where you can atleast partly understand why he did what he did and its ultimately done, you will feel better. Distract yourself for a while, tire yourself out and sleep it off. Switching your brain off and resting it drowns the void.

Very healthy. You're exhausted of social interaction and recharge yourself by spending me-time. That's perfectly okay. Infact that's your pattern and am glad you know your way out of it. Just one thing to say : if your food is helping you out of depression as comfort food that's perfectly fine. But if your eating habits are making you spiral even further, then that's an issue. Food habits should help you feel better to come out of the rut and then your normal routine should continue.
I have been a victim of depression for a brief period after my dad passed away...I used to just lock myself up and not talk to anybody for days...Stopped taking care of myself even...After living like that for an year or so, I started picking myself up in small ways like taking a shower first thing in the morning, waking up at 3AM in the morning and going out for a walk in the cold etc...One thing lead to another and before I knew, I started coming back to life...I wasnât even aware that I was depressed at that time as I didnât share it with anyone...My family also didnât know about it as I was calling them regularly and speaking to them like nothing happened...Only later when I looked back at it, did I know how dangerously close I went to destroying myself then...So please guys, take care of yourself a lot...Look closely at yourself and also donât disregard the little things like taking a quick shower, eating a nice dessert etc...You donât have to socialize but try to be out there, even if it is in the dead of the night or early morning( of course make sure you are safe)....

Can I share my tips too? What I was taught by my therapist while I was going through a difficult time.
Maintaining a journal really helps. Write whatever you want to, any thoughts that are troubling.
Write the things that you are grateful for.
One feels much lighter after writing.
Do the things you love, watching movies, talking to a friend, spending time in nature, listening to music(no sad music though), singing etc whatever makes you feel better. Try to get out of the low vibration.
Do some exercises. Aerobics, yoga or dance.
Also look up Jacobson progressive relaxation technique. This helps in reducing anxiety.
The most important thing is to remember that if it becomes too much to handle on your own, never shy away from reaching out to a professional. Do not neglect mental health.
Whatever it is, one can always turn their life around.
Stay healthy, every one :)
