Glad to know you remember me too! 😊

Yes IF has been a great platform for so many good writers with great stories and I have followed them religiously since the days of IPK! Re-reading such good stories has simply made me more happy! Many of them were new to writing and did a fantastic job and none of them were professional writers or social activists who wanted to change the word or were too serious about their writing! Most of them were simply inspired by the show and wanted to recreate the memories of Arshi! I love reading and like interacting with writers by commenting in detail on their works which I know so many writers also love! I think my past comments on few of your stories are enough to show how deeply I felt for them. Otherwise I would have just ignored and wouldn't even bother to comment in length at all. This time also its was Bittersweet Season 2 which forced me to comment remembering how I had felt in Season 1! It just made me wonder my past views and question it as I see things differently now! I just wanted to express what I feel about it which I never did or still don't do for very random fiction that I read!

After a re- read I feel few of your stories I mentioned were mentally , emotionally and even physically abusive for Khushi and in no way Arshi's relationship was healthy as they were never two equals in their marriage or better say were never companions! It was more like dominant submissive and I really wonder did they ever realize how dysfunctional it was? My comment was only about your fan fictions based on IPK and it has nothing to do with anything else! IPK characters are bound to be similar to the show and each writer has its own style of writing and imagining and I am no one to judge it! Maybe its more about you, the way you see people around you which reflects in your characters and your stories! When I read again I saw your Arnav Khushi in different light and can't help but wonder about the reasons for showing them the way they are specially Khushi! Its not that you are incapable of but its something you choose to do willingly and that's make me wonder! You are an amazing writer and the one scene I remember in Bittersweet 1 last chapter where Arnav asks Khushi about feeling suppressed in their marriage and feeling heartache shows how good you are at essaying the subtle aspects of a man woman relationship. What Arnav said was so true that their relationship works only when Khushi makes efforts to it! Its one sided and otherwise they fail to work as a couple! Sheetal was right when she said Arnav always wanted a wife like Khushi which he can dominate and control! That's why their marriage works! I was wondering about your thought process that goes in shaping such characters in repetitions for long time! When you see the same characters in the same way for a long time you just wonder about why? You don't owe any answer to readers like me so please don't bother! How you write is your choice and no one can question you! I guess I was simply curious and irritated seeing the same things happening after such a long time as life is all about growing and moving on!

Thank you for replying and seeing you still active On IF in IPKKND Fandom was really great!

About Bittersweet 2 , Aditi's arrival may have softened Arnav a bit and made him see things differently in life but with Khushi he hasn't changed much! He is still a jerk! I really wonder how they lasted so long as a couple? 😊

Good morning

Not all my ffs are the same and it takes a eye to see beyond the surface, over 150 people read bitter sweet, more other ffs at the time. - “The dysfunctional”, and the cliche characters were spotted then and still are but they work, it makes for good drama why change something that works. Bitter sweet and lessons in love in particular got a lot of readership and also readers with a critical eye. In whichever way it was read , it was read.

Another thing is to create moments that are impactful you need to create ones that give reason for them to hit the mark. So without the chauvinist Arnav (and it could have been Khushi) the last scene at the kitchen about heartache in Bitter sweet 1 wouldn’t have mattered, wouldn’t have felt the same.

Those who feel it’s not for them will go elsewhere those who still like something about these I trust will be happy in some shape or form. Bitter sweet hasn’t ended yet so I wouldn’t jump to any conclusions.

Numbers don't matter and in this world there is a market for everything that sells! Majority isn't always right and in the end its all about individual likes. We live in a country where Kabir Singh was superhit whereas a movie like Thappad struggled to survive. I don't think anyone takes fan fictions seriously including me but I am happy to see that I am not the only one to let out my disliking. I was talking about few stories which I didn't like and not about your entire work and I believe one needs more sharp eyes to look through and not just below the surface what majority can't see which might make us uncomfortable.

There is no fun in a story without drama but it can be created in million different ways without being stuck in the old patterns! I don't mind a male lead being a hot headed chauvinist, its his casualness towards his hurtful actions and the passive reaction of the female lead that makes me uneasy. The point isn't about making Khushi a replica of lady ASR but giving her sweet character spine and substance. I didn't mention kitchen scene of Season 1 because of its impact but because of Khushi's response to Arnav's question that made loose its impact. Letting out your honest feelings and hurt is needed and Ignoring or suppressing it simply makes everything toxic in the long term. That's what happens in real life too and otherwise marriages won't fall apart. One can make things work in writing anyway rather than simply stereotyping like Season 2 begins with Khushi saying sorry to Arnav for a wrong business deal and making huge losses when she was the CEO of AR in Arnav's absence. I don't think if it was the ASR who had made the wrong deal and made AR bankrupt would have changed anything in this story. He can be wrong too and Khushi can also be a successful CEO too without being ruthless and aggressive like so many real life businesswomen or female CEO's! That's why I feel such stories feel it belongs to the Era gone by not the current times. Hard to relate!

Having said this I am not here to carry out a dissection of your work and I don't have any intention to start a debate. As I said I don't comment on every random fiction that I read I had liked Bittersweet once. My objection was simply about ASR's inability to comprehend Khushi's hurt and getting away easily with his faults and and Khushi's inability to choose her self respect over her love for him when its needed which makes her spineless eventually! I don't wish to continue this debate anymore because although you don't owe anyone explanation to anyone you don't have a right response for many of your critique's questions. If people derive their own joy in seeing Khushi this way, I am no one to object it! Carry one!

I will made it simple. In both stories Khushi simply feels like a doormat no matter how much you use her, hurt her, insult her she will be like a saint always so loving so forgiving so selfless who will always comeback and will put up with every crap but will never dare! Her stubbornness is no match to her Husband's pride and doesn't make her strong in nay sense. If that gets readership fine with me! But its not for me! I said what I wished to say and I know there is no dearth of stories which I look for! I will go for it!

I’ve never said these characters are perfect.. so when you hold me to it i agree. Both of them could be better.

In all this I suppose I really appreciate one thing which Is the attachment the appreciation (which may no longer exist but once was) the time you gave to these two stories. So for that I will always continue to say thanks.
Hopefully I’ll write something some day (unknown) to me at this time that will supersede the flaws in the characters you and others feel strongly about.

Hope you’re well - good to hear from you. All comments welcome always whether they are a critique or otherwise.

All else I’ll take lightly but not this ..i don’t see how any of my responses can be judged as right or wrong. You’re all free to ask what you like I’m not judging what’s been asked so I don’t see why my responses are being judged.
