But racism? No. The reason is simple: there are really no "races" in India. Also, simply considering dark skin colour as less attractive for marriage isn't racism. Its colorism.

Colorism is but a subset of racism. So discrimination on the basis of skin colour is still racist.

No it's not. Colorism has none of the nuance, violence, history of institutional discrimination and hatred as racism. Only a simpleton would say that colorism is one kind of racism.

Colorism has nothing to do with race.

All the wonderful people around the world who have concluded that India is racist will be welcomed with open arms in those wonderful countries who r shown in blue in the map.

I m sure these countries r not burning currently with riots, terrorism, internal unrest, civil wars within the country etc.. They are all peaceful countries

Colorism has nothing to do with race.

Both colourism and racism are related in that they're both forms of dicrimination on the basis of how one looks.

And race does exist in India, Aryan race and Dravidian races for example (frequently South Indians are mocked for being darker). The prejudice against Northeast Indians is also racism.

It would be ignorant to deny existence of these forms of discrimination.
