This. Exactly. I'm including the entire desi/south-asian community in this. Matlab there are rampant issues with racism/casteism in that entire desi diaspora so with what muh will people now suddenly act like they understand black lives matter? Matlab when we all grow up in these countries, do we even realize how much racism is ingrained in our societies, our movies? Even now blackface is used as a means of "laughter" in many bolly movies or tv shows......and these very people now want to turn around and pretend "solidarity" cuz the issue is now front and center?

And again, this is nothing personal against any of these actors....most of them are clueless and just piggybacking on whatever hashtag of the day they can find anyways but just generally speaking.....this kind of wannabe activism is just irritating.

Yeah for some reason, acting "woke" about things that happen in the west just seems so much easier for folks than confronting deep rooted issues in desi society.....so many divisions happening on the basis of religion, caste, skin color, race.....what about that? Where are the daily hashtags for that? Nowhere.....cuz you see, most of us sitting here typing on our laptops are the privileged ones who barely realize the tip of our own privilege....how many of us are even consciously aware that even being marginally fair skinned and educated puts us in a privileged bubble where we are rarely touched by oppression? Heck, most of us are comfortably upper caste without ever being aware of it because we never step a foot outside the social gatherings of our community bubble....wohi weddings, wohi functions....toh phir waise bhi baahar ki duniya ka kaise pata chalega? Through bollywood?.....where 99% of actors are all gore chitte upper caste people as well? lol.....it's a bubble within a bubble and most of us never realize it.....no?

Anyways, honestly all this stuff is too much on my mind these days and I really want a break from it.

I'm gonna go catch up on IB or something light to take my mind off things.....I really need a distraction😆

I watched the great on Amazon prime. Really well done show though I wouldn't say it is light light but it has some hilarious moments and they are showing the hard reality of that era in still a not so strict way as in 3cause it is tagged under comedy they still treated some of the harsher situation in the Russian empire in a light /slight comic way.

For really light easy breezy stuff toh am looking for too

oh me too i am so sick of trying to find something o gif aise nahi pata lagta mujhe until i see a full thing i just can't function with gif from this time to this for me lol i feel ridiculous if i don't connect or like anything to gif it

But yeah yeh bhi dekh lete hain....

I was going through my gallery and I randomly came across old NM-SC gifs toh nostalgia ho gaya phir se thoda😆

This is very well written and totally on point. Waise toh Abhay has always been kind of a maverick in bollywood....lol so not surprising that he isn't following the stock hashtag herd mentality as the rest of them.

Oh it was definitely not made up yaar....the banter was natural. I was just reflecting on the fact that people change with circumstances sometimes but the memories remain frozen in time :)

Waise I'm pretty sure these two will still be like this if they ever catch up in person even now😆 (like we saw in that recent award show segment also)......other circumstances notwithstanding :P.....but I'm happy that the old memories still make me smile regardless :)
