Many times people want to post in a thread but it is already locked after 3 months so new thread on same subject is started and it gets locked because there is already a thread on that subject.

You can request the section mods or the gms to reopen the locked thread. 😊

It would be nice if 6-8 months would be the default time limit to close/lock any thread by default.

Nope, No option for that. Disabling Signature will hide both texts and pic/gifs
