Is rani as big of a star as kareena? - Page 4

Come on now, those films are form 2015.

In recent years kAreena has worked in Ki&Ka, Udta Punjab, Veere, Good Newwz, all successes. Mix of critical acclaim, commercial pot boilers, and solo hits, she did it all.

Of course she’s in more demand than Jhanvi and Ananya. She’s had solo hits to her name and ormax still ranks her higher than most of them. Who are these 1 film old girls who can’t complete with these seasoned actresses? Most people don’t even know who Ananya is.

Maybe not as in demand than Alia coz Alia also has age on her side. Most roles are written for girls in their 20s or early 30s and Kareena’s hitting 40, so obviously she can’t be cast opposite younger guys like Aditya Roy Kapoor or others. But that’s a practical limitation. At 40, she’s Kareena’s so in demand that she’s working in big budget films with Aamir Khan and Akshay Kumar. What more demand do you need?

What is this question, obviosuly she is not. Being a good actress doesn't mean you have massive appeal.

Nutan was the best actress of her time, Smita Patil, Shabana Azmi...hell even in HW Katherine Hepburn is considered the greatest actress of all time, but her popularity pails in comparison to Marilyn Monroe, who is still loved and cherish to this date.

Rani is a better actress, but Kareena has that x-factor that makes even gen z on social media obsess over her. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen Poo gijs, memes, tiktoks and no one really compares to that.

As for the people brining up Aish, if she wasn't you relevent why bother bring her up? She's also a huge superstar and there's soooo many people even in gen z that are obsessed with her 90s movies/songs/fashion. Say what you will, but Aish & Kareena have something in them that make them so well loved in these generations. I haven't come across that for Rani or PZ.

What solo hits Kareena had since what i remember is that whatever films Kareena appeared was multi starred movie ?

There is no doubt that Kareena has raw appeal due to her figure and her wedding with Saif and her baby Taimur so she is in more lime light while Rani has kept herself away from that limelight.

But saying Rani has no stardom is wrong since all her 'Solo films' are HIT which means audience still want to see Rani and has accepted her back after marriage n baby.

When it comes to acting Rani is miles ahead of Kareena ...Rani >>>>>>> Kareena.

Ki&Ka was with Arjun Kapoor and a success.
Also, Veere was basically riding on her shoulders coz Sonam, Swara have no star power and it was a massive opening.

Ranis star power shows at ticket windows and not on Instagram lol

Mardaani 2(underpromoted plus mediocre reviews) inspite of being sandwiched between PPAW and Dabbang 2 plus released with Jumanji 2 with limited screens made 48 CRS .

Same goes for hichki which made 1 Cr lesser .

Whereas the film's of younger actresses like queen deepika's chappak(not bad reviews plus drama queen controversy), queen kangana's panga(massive critical acclaim) , Taapsees critically acclaimed overhyped thappad/SKA made much lesser numbers .

BTW, all these aforementioned actresses are socially more relevant than Rani :)

Which one is a solo hit ? Name a film of kareena in recent past after heroine which had only her name in the poster (even flop BHI chalega like Aiyyaa in Rani's case)? Don't come up with veere :)

Absolutely,it's Rani's choice that she keeps herself away from the limelight,it's very easy to be a newsmaker today ,even Rakhi Sawant can make news if she wants to ,there are several YouTube/Instagram stars who are socially more relevant than many Bollywood stars including Rani. Even those who have followed Rani's career closely from the start can vouch for the fact that even at her peak, she never milked media's attention or created unnecessary controversies . There has been 0 effort from her side to build a social image which is saleable which is frustrating for us fans . So, yes , I don't blame millennials who doubt Rani's star power as for them everything is about social media and Rani was not in that game ever .

Rani's PR team is also frustrated as in one interview she herself confirmed that she doesn't listen to them and only wants her work to speak for herself .

A word of advice for you , don't club ash and kareena in one bracket , kareena is an undoubted relevant superstar, question here is about her comparison with Rani .

You can club ash with preity ,both of them faded into oblivion. No one cares about them apart from die hard fans like you ofcourse :) talking about fashion , even there are fans of Shilpa shetty's polka dotted animal prints and raveena's yellow saree .
