Acting wise Taapsee isn't the best actress. She is a good one, but so are Parineeti, Ileana, Bhoomi, for example.

What separates Taapsee from the rest is her ability to pick amazing roles and dedicate herself 100% to her craft. This is something I see lacking in these other actresses.

Taapsee can completely get rid of vanity and get into the skin of the character. You see her scenes, the way her forehead wrinkles isn't pretty, but she doesn't try to look pretty. She just becomes the character and does it to the best of her ability.

It's that dedication, passion and fire to do some good work is what makes her better than any of her contemporaries.

Parineeti, Bhoomi, Yami and Ileana are better actresses than Taapsee. They emote better, have better dialogue delivery and more screen presence.

But I agree Taapsee has all the good roles in her kitty, maybe due to her networking skills or whatever. She's a better actress than Alia for sure, but I would equate them as they are lucky to get the kind of roles they do. Taapsee's main problem is her one-note acting. She doesn't (or can't) bring variations, which make one character stand out form the rest. She slips into the same mannerisms, the same pattern of emoting, which we see in all her movies. She is limited in her talent and potential, however she is a hard-working actress and ambitious. Her limitations do not define her as much as her achievements.
