In the epic Karna was as excited and enthusiastic as his best friend. Both of them were the leaders in humiliating and were perhaps competing who could humiliate more. Shakuni and Dusshashan were just following their leads. The epic mentions that everyone was sad at the state of affairs excluding these four who were enjoying the stress of others
Karna was the one who asked Dusshashan to disrobe Draupadi and to take her to the inner chambers.
