I was once questioning every single custom/ritual, believe me. I still do but now when I have my own kids growing up, when they come sit in a Puja , I make sure they dress appropriately as a mark of respect.

When they are amidst elders, they behave and speak appropriately.

It's all about showing respect and maintaining sanctity if the place and person.

Ranbir ,Neetu would have come directly from the hospital.

But this idea of questioning every thing related to beliefs, customs and rituals is disturbing to me. I bet many who question the choice of attire wouldn't sit in a Puja or go to a church or mosque in their personal choice of clothing ( casual, informal, day to day) without giving a thought to it.

This isn't an example of Bollywood mein sab chalta hain. This is am example of Bollywood following rules.

She was likely wearing that at the hospital and given how quickly funeral happened, went straight to cremation centre.

True its quarantine time.. so it changes things.

They had so many relatives visiting hospital after the news. She couldve asked alia to pick up a kurta for her and Ranbir on her way since she was playing Bahu duties so well..People do such things all the time in emergency situation.

I dont like saying what I said here but people come up with ridiculous arguments that are easily refutable

Only ridiculous and insensitive person i see here is you so STFU

Yup. That was surely the first thing on her mind after having lost her husband of 40 some years. She couldn't look inappropriate so she needed to call relatives for clothes. Let's all make Twitter posts on how her behavior absolutely damaged Indian culture.

You contradicted yourself in the same post.

Question everything. Always. Don't accept anything blindly. Always be curious and inquisitive and question the ways of the world around you. That's the only way to we can evolve and enlighten ourselves. At least that's what I believe in.

As much as i disagree with the twitter troll on westernized Hindu jibber jabbar , i cant help but notice Ranbir's glaringly disrespectful jeans at his father's funeral .. Those jeans look disrespectful in any east , west , north , south culture around the globe .. It is almost as if he is rebelling one last time against his allegedly detached alcoholic father .. Horrible thing to say or even think given the occasion but it is what it is ..
