I didn't intend to take this further but here you have twisted my response. I was explaining the reason behind the admin's action against your post because you were indirectly accusing her of digressing and making her own laws. Admins here have dealt with tough situations so the wariness is natural. I didn't expect you to toe the line drawn by other newbies or research past breaches by intruders.

I know you didn't intend to take it further but you didn't intend to end it either, else you'd have left it between two people in conversation (unless you were requested to intervene, I don't know about that). Accusing?? But you did accept that there is no such rule that you can't ask a Non-Member to edit or a person has to be a member of this thread to be rectified. So it has to be thing of this particular thread and most probably made by the thread creator(s). So what accusations are we talking about? Looks like another assumption.

For your kind information, you're not the first newbie whose post has been hidden. There's no written rule that non-members can't post or be asked to edit. But, topic creators can only hide newbie/groupbie posts. Doesn't take hard to fathom here must be a strong reason behind it.

Also when I say how admins functions then admins don't exist just on a Social platform, they exist almost everywhere, as it's a managerial position. But newbies thing and rules and incidents of this forum only belong to this forum. Rules are not sole propriety of this thread and we all know every rule has a rationale behind it so it really doesn't need a lot of research to figure out that "a non-member can't be asked to edit" if he/she has posted something which is "assumed" to be against the norms can't be a forum rule and you were kind enough to support that :)

OKAY! Non-members are asked to edit when they are senior members or beyond, because admins can't hide posts by them. In case of newbies, however, several thoughts creep in because this site has a huge MID issue. Now again you may accuse me of expecting you to know it all. But that's not the case. I'm merely explaining the reason behind the treatment.

But yeah you are right, I must have researched everything before I decided to open this thread. My unconditional apologies :) Maybe there should be an enterance test too to get an access to this sacred thread, with a cut off. At least people like me who end up randomly opening threads to explore would know what they are signing up for. It will be quite fun. Some study material for new member will also be great with history of all the events for better exam prep.

^ This is the classic example of making a mountain out of a molehill and disregarding the other person's reasons.

As far admins dealing with tough situations in the past is concerned, I can imagine that. A situation as simple as this, that could have been solved with a simple communication (max to max 2 posts) ended up being this complicated, topped with more people joining (including yourself and you only made it worse) leading to "unneccessary and avoidable escalation" when two people in conversation had almost sorted the issue. Its always better to let two people (capable of solving their matter) communicate if they have any discussion. So it is very much possible that some of the tough situations happened in the past, were result of bad assumptions and communication. I am wondering if this situation will also be counted as one of the tough situations and quoted as an issue to future new members:(. Sorry I won't be researching on past tough situations. So I already fail that test

As situation as simple as this made you so bitter against me and prompted you to type essays and make assumptions regarding things you claim to have zilch idea of.

After managing 200+ complicated and difficult ATs all I lack is your certificate. Sad. But, I hardly lament the loss of this certification.

Since you're tirelessly repeating the same thing, even I'm forced to repeat that I NEVER EXPECTED you to research or know it all.

Please don't apologize, like I said open conversations (even the irrartional ones) are way better than behind the covers acts. So I appreciate you sharing it openly :)

PS. Read your "research" comment, once considering yourself a new member (2-3 days old) coming from a person who has spent years and years on this forum, holds a virtual (kind of) leader like position, might help avoid certain issues in future and may be lead to a better welcome for new members

I joined this forum a decade ago and was reprimanded several times. But that didn't make me bitter or prompted me to write essays loaded with biased assumptions, digs, and expectations that were only in my head.

In the end I am sorry (that's what is expected from me I guess that I should apologize to make everyone feel better) I entered this thread a "claimed territory" it seems working on assumptions may be. A place that can't treat a new member as new member, appreciate the fact that new members can make mistakes when they have hardly spent a day or two on the forum, instead of directly communicating decides to just hide comments without explanation, tell them to research past incidents (funny tha) wo kya appreciation thread ho sakta hai. And whats the point of that appreciation (of a character) when it can't even be helpful towards a new member (a real person).

You can report/hide this too, because heck yaa how can a newbie not research about a forum before opening this thread. Such an ignorant member should be dealt with actions like "HIDDING COMMENTS" or "REPORTING" but never try to help them as they should do their research right.

But guys (excluding Oposora )- you could just communicate with a new member instead of assuming things. Its not that hard you know. Iske liye research ki bhi zarurat nahi hai

Last part of your essay almost reads like a victim-card. I only feel it fair to inform you that you're not the first newbie who made mistakes and got a post hidden. A lot of them did and moved on. So we don't really need sermons from you.

While accusing others of assuming things, you are the one making offensive assumptions against us and even playing victim.
