There's no doubt that WHO has been complacent when it came to China and the information the country might have hidden.
BUT, now is not the time to be pointing fingers, especially when USA canceling its funds would mean a more difficult time for all other poor countries and how they cope. Its funds would have helped Europe or Africa more than it would have China. The countries need to come together on this, not go about like a lone wolf in the dark.
Coming to Trump, the guy is an out and out narcissistic megalomaniac and should be the last one to be blaming WHO. The reason he was quick to ban China was trade wars and not the virus because he, similar to Tedros, also came forward and praised China's efforts as evident from his tweets. The idiot downplayed how serious the pandemic could get, and now, when almost half a million people have died, is simply searching for a scapegoat to blame the entire ordeal on.
Even now, when so many lives have been lost, he is on one hand saying that the lockdown is a good idea, and on the other encouraging the people against it to go ahead and protest. All of it is simply politics.
For all its faults, at least our country is trying to do its best with whatever resources it has.
I do believe and SINCERELY HOPE, that once things retain a semblance of normalcy, China is thoroughly tried for its role in the spread of the disease and people, whether be Tedros or anyone else, are held accountable.
But now is not the time.
OT - I just hope she is eloquent this time around. Her last solo interview was very disjointed and vague.
