Yes, I did read it. I am in love with both Xie Lian and Hua Chang. Xie Lian is such an amazing character. He faced so much but he still holds on to his morals and beliefs. I am yet to see a character as impressive as lovable as him. I can't totally relate to HC's undying, obsessive love of XL. Can't even explain what I feel for Hua Chang. The way he loved Xie Lian. ☺️

He never judged XL, he never left XL's alone. He stayed with XL even after being dead, almost dispersed, become powerful so that no one could even touch XL again, and lastly, he is GORGEOUS. I can go on and on about HC. He is everything.❤️☺️ I mean picking one of them is so difficult for me. That book is a monster and I read it thrice. Its so addictive. I wish we had a web series on this. Its killer!

That was one of the best things about WWX. He was someone who always managed to find something good in the worst possible situation. That's why I fell for him first and I honestly liked LWJ more for his beauty and character as I saw the series, I did not read the book by that time. Once I read the book it was game over for me as LWJ took lead. Though it keeps shifting between these two time and again. You know how it goes.😆

Wang Yibo was such a perfect fit for LWJ. I can't imagine anyone else doing justice to LWJ's character.

The part where he was banished for the first time and also when Mu Qing left he went through so much. I hated White No Face like anything even his intention was to bring XL beside him no one will put someone through such a path.

I can get the emperor's obsession with XL as he could see himself in XL. He faced the same situations and he changed. He was also abandoned, betrayed by his own as XL, was left with nothing for trying to save the world and that filled him with hatred. XL was different no matter what pain he was put through, he emerged out with his morals and will intact, that's the reason he ascended not once but thrice. he was momentarily swayed but even at his worst, he knew what he was doing. He gave the benefit of doubt to others. He forgave and forgot. I hated the emperor, but I felt more pity & sadness towards him than anger. As in whatever form XL mostly had HC with him but that was not the case with the emperor. He was lonely. He may have seen his failures every time XL made a comeback without harming anyone, without changing his ideologies and beliefs. It must have hurt the emperor to accept the fact that he was weaker than XL. Once I finished the book. I no longer hated him to be honest.

What I found super adorable and funny is that the ghost supreme whose name itself struck fear, used to act as an obedient kid with XL.

It's like they both walk in the same shoe but the person wearing it does make a difference. Anyhow he had his justification as well towards the end, just like you say. The part where Guoshi decided to stay back with him, I really liked that part. But the second half of the same chapter left me no other option but to shove a pillow and weep 😔 HC faded away 💔 Damn, that was one of the hardest things for me to digest.

But can you imagine being so extraordinary that you put your everything to save others and not only the people who want to bring you down but also the people you are trying to save all turn against you? Jun Wu was abandoned by all the people he worked for. XL knew the force behind his destruction it was white-no-face but Jun Wu was destroyed by his own people. XL feared & hated White-no-face similarly JW hated everyone. He lost all his compassion. Guoshi could have done a better job while he was with JW. JW was not mad he was just lost and disappointed with himself and with everyone else. As I feel XL's pain I can't avoid JW's ever. He has been through the same. Of course, he is no XL. I feel JW was more like HC. If he hated something he hated with a passion if he wanted something he pursued it till the end and both JW and HC were most powerful yet not power-hungry. They wanted to become powerful for a reason. HC to protect XL and JW to never face what he faced when he was the prince. HC fading away was such a shock for me. But the moment XL revealed that the red thread is there I was relieved. But can you imagine how powerful HC was. I mean he gave all his spiritual energy to XL and fade away then came back with the same/more powers.🤢

First MQ left, then humiliation by 33 gods, 1000 sword piercing, falling in mud pit being hopelessly lost and drunk, FX left, his parents committed suicide. Man, it was so bad. It surprises me how he tolerated all this and did not lose his mind.

Oh HC is a total DIVA. Everything about him is classy and unique. He is whiney kid only for XL. He loves it when XL pampers him. Another funny at the same time cute thing was XL's food. I can never imagine how bad it was to be used as a weapon but HC used to enjoy it.

Not really HC never would have bothered about Qi Rong if not getting XL framed when he was masked Guoshi. Also, the way he treated and XL and insulted XL by making his statutes and all that much have been the reason for HC's irritation with QR. QR was funny for sure. He was unstable from the start so its not easy to blame him for his behavior. He was one of those obsessive fans who get anti when their idol doesn't do something they expect them too.

Oh, I am not into Chinese books, to be honest. These are the only two I have read. As I loved the style of the author I thought about given her 1st book a chance. I have no knowledge in this area. I can suggest some English stuff based on your taste.

All those dialogues and reminiscence... My poor Hua Yessss!! I loved the way he came back just like before.

The things which XL went through is enough to make someone mad. ISTG, he was so strong. When that ball ghost tried to warm XL, I must say MXTX just gave all of her best to HC. If I'm not wrong she once told in an interview that among all her characters HC is the wealthiest and most handsome as well and also told he's skilled but never justified you should see fans crying in Twitter about this thing. MXTX left the rest to fan's imagination

Yeah. JW was one of the strongest grey characters I have read/seen. I would not call him a villain. He was not villain for me. He was obsessed with breaking XL. Yes, I too was worried but no too much actually after the red string confirmation. But I really wanted to know where HC was and how he made it back as a ghost supreme again. I wanted that explanation. Honestly, I wanted that book to go on forever. The first scene where he first appeared in the novel to take XL to the ghost bride was the point where I realized I am gonna love this character more than anything and then the meeting in Ghost city where HC was just flirting with XL while pretending to teach him the correct way to throw dice. That scene gave me feels for real.☺️

Seriously XL was no less than HC when it came to determination. I honestly feel if not for those punishment chains XL would have again gained all his spiritual powers as he was bound to be super magnificent. yes, she said he is best in bed too among all her characters. I read HOB after reading MODC(Master/Grandmaster of demonic cultivation) due to which I was really disappointed with HOB in terms of *ahem ahem* romance.

Because HOB has scored some numbers with steamy scenes. I get super frustrated due to this. HC is so sexy and she did not put this to use. *Disappointed sigh*
