A lot of black and white filme bhi hai, but I just couldn’t sit through any of them...

My fav - Bhagat Singh of Ajay Devgan and 1942 A Love Story. ❤️

Do you remember their names?

Balika Badhu (1976) . The teenage couple is mostly untouched. But the tragedy touches their lives when one of the supporting characters turns out to be a secret freedom fighter.

Gaban (1966). One of Hrishikesh Mukherjee's lesser known works. Our hero is a cowardly corrupt clerk on the run after embezzling his office money. He is bribed by the police bear false witness in court and send to death his college friend who's a freedom fighter.

Lootera and Batwara(1989) deals with how the zamindars come to grip with the fact that life as they know has changed with Independence. They end up making completely different decisions in the two films.

Kaalapani(1996) (dubbed) is one of Priyadarshan's rare serious films . It's about a doctor sent to the Andamans by the British. He's incarcerated with a lot of freedom fighters.Tabu has a forgettable role.
