I don't know why, but I've had that HC in my head for a while. I've always wanted the writers to build on the Kuhu and Ketu relationship, because they were best friends before Kuhu and Kunal's shaadi.

Also I'm very guilty of stalking this AT and not saying anything because I'm waiting for someone else to say something 💀

Oooh!! Ooh!! Ooh!! I want this HC!!! As you are already aware, I love Ketu's bond with both Kuhu and Kunal.

Now, please jump into the discussion because we love your inputs, #stalker😆

I'll write it!!! But it's gonna be way shorter than the counseling one 😆Fun story, I was gonna make the counseling os just a short blurb in this AT but as I wrote, it just got longer and longer and longer.... Hopefully for my sanity, I can keep this one short.

I never thought I'd like writing this much before Kunal and Kuhu. Their story has really brought out a sense of creativity in me that I never knew I had.

And I'll try to be better about talking in here. Promise!

And I hope that it keeps elongating as you go so that I have more content to enjoy😈

Content and creativity se yaad aaya, I also have to update my SS. I'll try and update it tomorrow and it'll hopefully be a longer chapter because that was the opinion of the masses and audience is King or rather Queens😆.

@Meera: YES! I would love more time spent on the Kuhu-Ketu bond, especially with that mention that Ketu wanted to go into business with her. I can so see the two of them being a kick-ass team and Ketu being the one to knock sense into Kunal's head when he acts obtuse.

I so enjoyed that little touch in the grihapravesh sequence when Ketu says she has to figure out a new name for Mishti because she already calls someone else Bhabs. ❤️

@Aqua: Love it! It's like you fleshed out the skeleton I offered up. 😃 I would still like to keep them on amicable terms, though. Sheetal knows a thing or two about emotional distancing because she had to decouple from her husband of many years. It's not necessarily that they didn't love each other but their marriage, in that joint family set up was just unsustainable and made them both unhappy and unfulfilled.

I also really like the details you added to her interactions with Kuhu. I think she sort of secretly ships it, heart of hearts but she definitely expects Kunal to step up and take ownership and convinces Kuhu that she deserves that at the very least. She validates her decision to stop fighting the divorce as long as Kunal doesn't make it absolutely clear that he wants her around.

She's seen a lot of cases and after she hears Kuhu's whole story in detail, sees no reason these two shouldn't have a perfectly successful marriage if only their families would give them some space and time to figure things out. They both have similar values, goals, and priorities. It would be a pity, she thinks to herself, to see that compatibility go to waste. But her first priority is to help Kuhu see this divorce as an opportunity rather than a failure, a chance to undo the lifelong conditioning that marriage is all their is to life. That way, if Kunal does come around, she knows how to fight for her rights in the relationship, but if he doesn't Kuhu has options other than returning to her maika and facing the shaming there.

Who do you think would have been her guiding light?? The person that made her realise that she needs to get out of the marriage??

Yeh inception jaisa nahin ho raha hai thoda? 😆

You both have created a new character altogether. Show mein jitne pehle se hai unke saath pura justice toh kare pehle writers. smiley36

It's a great idea though. I doubt Kuhu would've been able to count on anyone in her family or even a distant relative.

EDIT: Oh wait, did you mean someone other than the lawyer? If yes, definitely! I am all for Kuhu having more female friends. 😃

In my mind, I visualise a confidante who is aware of the dynamics in Kuhu's life and who can be present in real time when these flash points sputter (meaning she can attend the 110 functions they organise). That is why I suggested a Singhania cousin because she is near enough but still has a vantage point to observe the mess that is Kuhu's family. 😆 I would love for this guide to pick up on the issues on her own because she's a smart cookie. Since we're talking about eavesdropping, she could also overhear Kuhu talking to herself after a blowup. She can then ask Kuhu about it who will conveniently blurt out how she nurses deep-seated feelings of being ignored. Their bond could develop from there😳

Knowing Kuhu, yes, she is not someone who likes to share the true nature of her problems, especially when the other person belittles her or scolds her, like BM, Varsha and Kunal have done in the past. However, she does share her problems with Jasmeet who lives in the Maheshwari house, so I don't think she is fundamentally opposed to talking to them but they don't listen to her 👀 That's exactly why she always goes to Jasmeet because Jas at least validates her problems and doesn't undermine her concerns.

I like the idea. Seems interesting. I think Day 1 of divorce would be more focussed around Abir. The only thing I can think of right now is Kunal pondering over Kuhu's words and thinking of giving their marriage a chance.

Thank you my doll 🤗

I missed you and everyone too!

I am back 😎

Also guys, I came across another gem while re-watching. It's a scene where Kuhu comes in late at night and thanks her stars that Kunal is asleep ("Ab woh nahi poochega ki 'kahan thi?") She lies down to sleep and closes her eyes just to hear an accusatory 'Kahan thi ab tak?". Kuhu screams and wakes up to find Kunal sitting up and looking at her. She says, "Why are you scaring me? #Horror" 🤣🤣Kunal is like, "Main tumhe darane ki koshish nahi kar raha"

Kaveri has such great comic timing. It's hard to believe this is her first show. Her expressions were so funny. She plays Kuhu with such finesse. Same with Ritvik. We have managed to discuss them for 3 ATs despite the CVs trying their best to make them highly unlikeable. 🐷

I’ve always imagined another man who becomes Kuhu’s best friend and someone she can openly share her feelings with. Someone who’s on her side. Counselling and a best friend, that’s what I want! He can have his own set of problems that Kuhu would help him through because she’s great like that.

Now this best friend obviously has to be related to the RV’s; Abir and Kunal’s cousin?🤔 How else would we get their relationship constantly thrownin Kunal’s face and the classic jealousy trope?😆 No, I wouldn’t want the story to be too cliched. I just desperately want someone in that house who’s there to hear Kuhu out without belittling her.

I’d like to see Kunal observing the two bond on a deeper level which intensifies his insecurities about himself and his relationship with Kuhu. This would eventually lead to Kunal sharing these thoughts with Kuhu, maybe.

---

Coming back to the therapy idea.

From the hindi tv shows I’ve watched, I don’t think I’ve never seen a proper counselling story. But I watched a Marathi show, Bheti Laagi Jeeva, which had the lead actor, Vikas, regularly attending counselling sessions. It was a huge part of the show actually and it was done really well (of course until the makers decided to screw it up to try and garner ratings). I used to discuss the episodes on IF and a bunch of us were amazed by the way the character was written and portrayed. It was so refreshing to see such a flawed but relatable character in such a prominent role. It’s also why the show was rushed towards the end andit didn’t last long.

Funnily enough the actor who played Baba, Sameer Dharmadhikari, was the lead actor of that show. He did yrhpk after that show had ended I think. He was outstanding as Vikas, really! I cringed seeing him in this show after his previous performance. The actor is so talented but they managed to make him look caricaturish here.

PS. sorry, got a little side-tracked going down memory lane but I wanted to share this as soon as the therapy idea had come up. If anyone can understand Marathi and/or has the patience I recommend you watch the show or a couple of episodes at least.

In all these years of growing up and watching ITV serials, I've never fallen for a couple so hard. They're so convincing in their roles that you can see the characters' turmoil. That's why it's so damn hard to hate them.
