3 - Prenup Revelation
"Sona tune itna bada faisla kisise puche bina, kisise baat kiye bina kaise le liya?" shouted Suman, with Sonakshi standing in front of her and Rohit standing beside her.
Rohit kept on looking towards Sonakshi with shock engraved on his face. The girl that stood in front of him had cried buckets when she got the news that she was being replaced in her show and now she had taken the decision of resigning, leaving the 'pehchan' that she held so dear to her heart?
"Mumma, yeh mera decision hai, kisi aur ka nahi", Sonakshi retorted and sat down on the couch placing a hand on her forehead.
She had been trying to make her mom understand, for the past one hour, that her leaving her job was solely her decision, which even she knew, wasn't. It was for her Naren papa and the whole of Sippy family that she loved with all her heart.
She knew they had been facing problems due to her profession and she didn't want that. It was Naren that had hinted her towards this and it was only due to that, that she had decided to take this decision. Though, in spite of this, even she felt that she needed a new start, she needed to put a break to the kahaani of Parvati and focus on something anew.
"Sona, there must be a reason behind you taking this decision. Main janta hu ki tum aise hi ye decision nahi le logi", Rohit sat on his knees in front and took her hands in his. He looked at her with expectant eyes.
"Tune ye decision us Naren Sippy ke wajese liya hai na? Us insan ko humesha tujhse aur tere kaam se problem thi isiliye toh prenup bhi sign karwaya aur ab kaam bhi chudwaya" Suman shouted with her ever increasing voice, standing behind Sonakshi's shoulder. When Sonakshi gave no answer, Suman's doubts were proved right.
"Prenup?" Rohit stood up and kept on looking at Suman, while occasionally glancing at Sonakshi who had her eyes stuck to the ground. "Mumma, kya prenup?"
"Apni patni se pucho" Suman twisted her face and walked back into her room, trying to ease down her anger.
"Sonakshi?" Rohit sat down on his knees again and looked at her tear filled eyes.
"Woh...", Sonakshi started but felt her voice give up. She never wanted this thing to come out in front of him and certainly not in this way.
"Bolo Sonakshi" Rohit stated sternly.
"Naren papa ne prenup sign karwaya tha, shaadi se pehle, between me and him. Remember, main humare shaadi se ek din pehle ki date ke liye jaldi aayi thi? That's the reason. Papers sign karke Naren papa ko dene the. Badi mumma, yk aur mumma bhi the waha", Sonakshi mumbled the last sentence with the lowest possible voice.
Sonakshi felt the weight on her hands go away as she saw Rohit stand up and walk towards the door with a blank face. His face harboured no emotions. Sonakshi quickly got up, held his hand and called out his name.
Rohit just jerked Sonakshi's hand away gently and kept on walking towards the door. He never realized when he walked out of the lift and sat in his car. He told Ravi to take him back the Sippy Mansion, his home or was it even?
Sonakshi's words just rung in his ears, over and over. He felt betrayed, not only by Sonakshi but by every person that knew about this prenup. They didn't think of telling him even once? Why was he so oblivious that he couldn't see what was going inside his own home?
Sonakshi saw Ravi drive off with Rohit in the back seat and quickly told Shankar to take her back to the Sippy Mansion as well. That disturbed face of Rohit was something that Sonakshi would never be able to take out of her brain. She had to make him understand everything.
Rohit stepped out of the car and walked inside lifelessly. "Rohit tu itna jaldi aa gaya? Sona ke ghar gaya tha na?" Veena walked up to him. Rohit gave her a blank expression and walked to his room, without giving her a second glance. Sonakshi walked in just as he reached their floor by the stairs.
"Sona, Rohit ko kya hogaya hai? Itna kyu pareshan hai? Koi problem?" Veena asked an equally disturbed Sonakshi.
"Mumma, Rohit ko prenup ke baareme pata chal gaya" Sonakshi said as almost ran towards the stairs to go to their floor. Veena looked on to her with shock. She knew Rohit wouldn't be able to digest this new information and she only hoped that this wouldn't create a rift between the newly married couple.
Sonakshi saw Rohit close off the door of their room and quickly ran towards him. She peeped at him through the glass windows on their door.
Rohit sat down on their bed, with Sonakshi's words still ringing in his ears. He couldn't help but feel betrayed by her. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, of course he did, but he expected to know these certain things. He expected to know if his family was treating her right.
His anger had reached its peak by the time he reached their room and his hands found a vase that he threw away in anger. He heard her call out to him through the door but he knew that it was best not looking at those concerned pair of eyes at this point.
He walked towards the door and pulled the white curtains over it and plastered his forehead over it on the door with his right hand clutching the curtain. "Kyu Sonakshi?" he mumbled.
On the other hand, Sonakshi placed her left hand on the door and plastered her forehead on the door. "Please Rohit", he mumbled.
The both of them slipped down with their backs pasted on to the door. Sleep adorned their eyes soon with tears marks visible on their faces.

Rohit woke up with a striking pain in his neck and an acute headache. He looked out the room and saw the vase that he had broken, on the floor. He got up and opened the door. He saw Sonakshi land outside the door with a hot water bag and some medicines. He moved away from the door to let her in and walked in the washroom with his clothes to get ready.
Sonakshi walked in and placed everything that she held in her hands on the table. She looked around and saw the broken vase near their bed and immediately called Vimmi to clean it up.
Rohit walked out of the washroom, completely clothed, something he wasn't used to but he knew that Sonakshi would be sitting in the room waiting for him and he didn't want to have a conversation with her which, he knew, would be unavoidable, like the every other time he walked into their room with just a towel with her being there.
Rohit saw Sonakshi sitting on the bed, engrossed in her mobile. He quickly took his bag and started walking towards the door just as he felt her hands on his.
"Rohit, we need to talk, please?" she said, stopping him in his tracks.
"Sonakshi, I'm getting late", he said as he brushed off her hand and walked away.
Sonakshi's face fell but she quickly composed herself and walked off to get ready for her shoot.

It was past midnight and Sonakshi sat in her makeup, dialing a call to Vimmi, after the completion of her shoot for the day.
"Vimmi, Rohit aaya ghar pe?" she asked just as Vimmi muttered 'haan bhabhi'
"Nahi bhabhi, bhaiya toh nahi aaye par Ajit bhaiya keh rahe the ki woh nikal gaye the 1 ghante pehle", She heard Vimmi say from the other side of the phone.
"Thik hai, thank you Vimmi" Sonakshi hung up the call.
Sonakshi knew where Rohit would be during this time if he wasn't at home, their special park. It was a long shot as he left only an hour before but it was worth the shot. She quickly told Shankar the address and they drove off.

Sonakshi stepped out of the car and spotted a silhouette sitting at their usual place. She walked up towards it and immediately recognized Rohit. She stood in front of him.
"Yaha bhi aagayi tum?" he mumbled as Sonakshi sat beside him.
"Haan, aise hi thodi na chali jaungi" she said with a smile. Silence engulfed the darkness around them.
"Tumne mujhe kyu nahi bataya, Sonakshi?" Rohit mumbled after a few minutes.
"Rohit, mujhe nahi chahiye tha ki mere wajese tumhare aur humari family ke beech koi problem aaye. Yeh prenup bas mere pyar ka sabut tha aur mujhe apne pyar par pura bharosa hai" Sonakshi said with tears filling up in her eyes.
"Mujhe bina bataye papa aisa kaise kar sakte hai? Unhone sirf tumhare hi nahi, mere pyar par bhi sawal uthaya hai" Rohit felt his voice rise up.
"Rohit, tumne bas ek hi side suni hai. Mumma ne tumhare family ke accountant ko call kiya tha ye janne ke liye ki tumhare under kitni property hai. Woh bas apni beti ka future secure karna chahti thi aur papa bhi wahi karna chahte the" Sonakshi made him understand. She placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Par papa meri zindagi ka, meri shaadi ka aise faisla nahi le sakte. Unhe mujhe ek baar batana chahiye tha" rebuked Rohit.
"Rohit he was just looking out for you and tum unko is baat ke liye blame nahi kar sakte"
"Par Sona, unhone tumhare pyar par sawal uthaya hai..."
"Aur mujhe isse koi problem nahi hai. Agar unhe mere pyar ka aise hi proof chahiye tha toh wohi sahi" Sonakshi assured him.
Rohit looked on to Sonakshi and lovingly placed a hand on her cheek. His eyes harboured an emotion of love. He adored the woman in front of him so much. She could never think ill of someone and that proof was right in front of him. All his feelings of betrayal and anger just left him with her explanations. He knew that she was right.
"Meri Sona is the most special" he pulled her nose.
"Woh toh hai", she gave him a cheeky smile while pushing his hand away gently.
"Ab chale? It's so late" Sonakshi got up and pulled him.
"Haan chalo"

How was it? So this is how I wanted the prenup revelation to go. I know its a bit chaotic and maybe even too emotional but I suddenly was hit by my everlasting writer's block again and so I couldn't think straight. This chapter starts from the scene between Suman and Sona in episode 146.
