This is one movie i sincerely hope never never gets made Deepika has neither the talent nor the beauty to play drapaudi she will ruin it and then all the pr dramas that she does during the release

deepika is producing the film along with Madhu Mantena, there are no updates yet about the director and actors, all we know is that deepika will be playing Draupadi

I don think Bollywood should even think about touching those two epics.

Even if Rajamouli was a good director, but Baahubali feels like a one time watch...I almost slept the second time.

There are no actors at the moment who can play those roles as well. Draupadi is supposed to be strong, Sita has to have that peaceful and sensible feel to her.

Imo TV has already done justice to these. The original 1980s wala Ramayana and Mahabharta were the best. Arun Govil and Gurmeet were both excellent. I never thought anyone could outdo the former but the latter surprised me. Although I liked Dipika more, Debina also was great. The simplicity, innocence and the essence was captured beautifully. Bollywood would ruin it with glam.

I hope to God it never ever gets made. Deepika is a below par actress with above average looks, not stunning as MBh says Panchali was. That awesome woman will be turned into a weepy weakling because that is all Deepika knows how to do and not even well. Panchali's inner strength, her warrior spirit, the awesome leader she was... Deepika won't be able to bring even 1% of that to life.

Not really. Agreed his work is commendable but it is over the top for me in certain moments. Ramayan and Mahabharat deserve something grand but subtle too.

Director for both should be Rajamouli definitely... but for actors it would be better to look for fresh faces who suit the roles perfectly rather than makers forcing themselves to pick from people who are already famous...

Because truth is very few of current and even older generation stars suit any of those roles

Rajamouli probably could do it, but the social milieu won't let him recreate the epic the way it should be done with all the character nuances.

And no Deepika for Panchali! Deepika has neither the looks nor the acting chops to portray the awesome force Panchali was.
