EK era- Even EK shows pre-2008 still had grey characters or 'questionable' things being done by the leads, like KZK's premarital pregnancy, PreMukti's love story etc. IDK why but after the K-serials shut shop, ITV has become even more orthodox.

As for my Meenu drabble, well, everyone needs love. In fact, I suggest that the foursome should find a dilwala for Meenu, who will give her a lunch box as she goes to office and gives her chai before her veena sessions. Parul will be freed.

Maybe Vibhuti from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain.

@bold 1: Oh man, you have gotten me started on my favourite topic -- the evolution of ITV. 🤓 So I think that the early EK shows were more unashamedly modelled after soap operas and telenovelas. There wasn't really a strong plot, just characters who were moved around to create maximum drama. Then around 2008 came what I call the "social issue" renaissance of ITV, which I believe started with Balika Vadhu. There was a huge wave of shows about women who were victims of some social evil or the other and rose up against it. I think the peerless leads we see even today are a remnant of that era.

Around 2013-15, the popularity of Pakistani serials and their broadcast in India changed the visuals of ITV a lot. The looks and dialogues became far more naturalistic but a lot of the writing kept falling back on the old tropes because the show had to go on indefinitely. I observe a lot of shows and see how different PHs negotiate all of these variables.

@blue: I am so on board for Meenu getting some TLC. As I have said many times, Parul and Meenu were my first ship on this show. ❤️ They have a healthier partnership than all the older couples by far. That said, I would not object to them getting their own romances. Meenu can't be older than 60 and Parul might not even be 50 yet! There is plenty of time to live a more exciting life. 😉

@bold 2: Finally, a show I haven't seen 😆

That's where Naley come in. They were so great!

Oooh! I like the idea of a boy for KuKu but I love the twin girls. Maybe they can have 3 kids😆

Dramoine? NOO!! 😆 No judgment though, I am just incapable of shipping non-canon couples. I tend to immerse myself in the universe of the work so I end up believing what the authour tells me, for the most part. The romances in the HP universe were never very well-developed, but I always loved the pairing choices. For me, Ron was Hermione's perfect beta male, and I love reading FFs where he's a stay-at-home husband/dad.

Yes! Let's give them all three 😃 I like to imagine the boy is shy and sensitive like Kunal so Kuhu is extra gentle and affectionate with him, and totally loses her cool and goes into tiger-mom mode when she senses the slightest amount of pressure on him; she's that particular about her son not facing the same feelings of inadequacy that Kunal did. Kunal sometimes has to talk her down when she is being over-protective, and remind her that it's not always about protecting him but setting him free and being there to love him unconditionally.

Another drabble because I'm now obsessed with the idea of KuKu and their kids:

"Kittu! Kanu! Kanwar! Aaja, nashta karlo sab!" Kuhu called her three children. Kritika, Kanika, and Kanwar all ran down the stairs one by one, squealing and chasing each other. The three of them had their school uniforms on, and while Kanika's hair was perfectly done (she had taken after her mother in that sense), Kritika's hair was haphazard and unbrushed.

"Arey yaar Kittu, tum abhi tak tayyar nahi hui? Dadi ne chhoti nahi banwayi?" Kuhu sighed in exasperation. She was about to go over to fix her hair when she got a call from her latest client, that too, in full bridezilla mode. Kunal came down the stairs and saw the chaos. It wasn't 8 am yet, and his wife looked ready to cry. Quickly jumping into action, he grabbed a comb and sat down, putting Kritika on his lap. "Aajao Kittu, today Papa's gonna do your hair."

Kuhu looked at him in disbelief. "Oh really? Tum nahin kar paoge." Just then, Abir came and sat down at the dining table. "Arey, kyun nahin? Mera Nanko to 200% capable hai."

Kuhu looked at Abir with her hands on her hips. "Oh really? Lagi shart?"

Abir smirked. "You're on, bro." He grabbed Kanwar, who was running in circles around the table, and sat him down next to him, placing a napkin around his neck and beginning to feed him.

"Done!" Kunal showcased Kritika's hair, which was now braided beautifully. He had been secretly practicing on Kritika's hair for a few weeks, and had made her promise not to tell Kuhu this, so that he could savor his victory when the time came. Kritika and Kunal exchanged a wink and a fist bump. "Thank you Papa!"

Kuhu's mouth dropped open. Abir laughed. "You owe me now, bro!"

Kanika went and tugged on the sleeve of Kunal's suit. "Papa, aap meri bhi chhoti banwa do na! Pleaaseeee???"

Kunal looked up and smirked at Kuhu. Kuhu shook her head in amazement. Even after eight years of marriage and three kids, her ladaku chokro would never fail to surprise her.

Meera!!!

You have officially Killed me with the Kuteness of this KuKu Khandan!❤️

So adorable, I can't😭

I propose that the boy is older than the girls (which heightens Kuhu's fear of pressure on him to be the perfect son/brother), but only by a couple of years. Kuku are obsessed with treating their kids equally (for obvious reasons), so they didn't want there to be too much of an age gap.

They are SO PERFE-K-T 😃 And Kuku are so that couple who would follow the K-theme for their kids' names. Kuhu brings that giant K over from her room at Maheshwari house when they are decorating the nursery because she has it all planned out.

Yay! I love how we are gradually forming our own extended canon, and it's so far in the future that it almost doesn't matter what actually happens on the show 😆

I loved Naley too.

I also loved Brook. She was a great, layered character and had some great moments in the show. She was the one I felt grew the most as a person.

@Nikki: I didn't watch all of GG but I sort of followed it -- it's starting to look like I have watched more TV than anyone on this AT. 🤣 Kuku do have early Chuck and Blair vibes! Man, if people think Kuku is bad, they should have seen the saazishes those two did, and they were still the most popular ship on the show. It's nuts how different the standards are.

I never watched Gossip Girl but I remember my older sister shipping chuck and blair. I also remember a lot of hype around them.

@blue: I know it's crazy!

Kuku ke bacche! 😲 I don't know why, but I always imagined them having boys. Kunal getting to be the father he never had and Kuhu being doted upon by all her men. That said, Kunal as a girl dad is something I didn't know I needed, so maybe we give them both. Meenu can do everything in her power to stop it, but Kuhu madam is on a mission now and vo bhi kuch kam nahi hai. 😉

Same!! Clarity did a great job in kinda converting me. Now I wish for a boy then girl .

Wouldn't Meenu want grandchildren 🤔? She better leave them alone if she wants grandchildren.

@Aqua and Sam: You guys have convinced me to watch Avatar. I shall start tonight.

Kunal says, 'Dekho baby, hum negotiate karke ek deal pe aa sakte hain. Tum rona band karo aur main tumhe chocolates dunga." Kuhu says, "Offo Kunal, yeh bachcha hai, koi client nahi. Stop playing #boardroom with him, because he is #bored." "Oh achcha, tum toh baby expert ho na. Chup karke dikhao isse." Kuhu rolls up her sleeves and says, "Tum dekho meri Kuhuness ka jadoo ab." She picks up the baby and says, "Ab main tumhe vlogging sikhaungi." She points her camera and the baby becomes quiet. Kuhu looks at Kunal triumphantly while he looks shocked. A second later, the baby wails. "Arre kya hua tumhe? Abhi toh chup ho gaye the," rues Kuhu. Kunal starts laughing and pointing at Kuhu. "Achcha, ab tum mera mazaak udaoge, Kunal ke bachche," she says. She goes to him and ruffles his hair. Kunal retaliates and ruffles her hair. They start ruffling each other's hair and suddenly, the baby laughs. KuKu look at each other and smile. "We did it!", they say and high five each other.

Meenu ko resort bhej do, sab theek ho jaayega. She needs spa. Imagine she is getting her head massaged and she goes, "Ambe Maa Ki Saugand...itni achchi maalish mujhe aaj tak Koshlu ne bhi nahi di'.
