The data from Europe is very scary. Most likely in her case, she could have contracted it in UK and virus took 6-7 days in her body to show any visible effect. Then she got symptoms 4 days before. But you are right about community spread. Many experts believe that there is already community spread in Indi. We just dont know yet. We are not testing enough. Even now they are testing only travellers who are showing symptoms. They are not allowing asymptomatic patients to get test. They have not allowed private hospitals/labs to carry out tests. Our resources are very limited. Next two weeks are very crucial where we start getting more patients and it will be exponential growth. We need to test everyone even if there are no symptoms because they can be carriers.

on 7th March, UK had 40-50 cases but today it is more than 1000. This does not mean it spread after 7th March, it meant people were infected earlier only but got detected and tested now. SAme can happen in India. We just need to be calm, patient and careful.

As someone who has done it for more than 100 times, one can't skip immigration or security checks but health screenings are actually skippable at a lot of places. I do agree that it's now a witch hunt because she's a known face and because of the politicians. People are also angry and the government needed to do something to calm them. Goverment lapses clearly happened. But also on a personal level, lapses happened. she shouldn't even taken the flight from Mumbai to Lucknow. She put people in that flight in danger too other than coming home to infect her own parents.

I just wanna know how on two separate occassions,after coming to Mumbai, and after coming to Lucknow, government didn't ask her to take any measures and even she didn't have the brains to self isolate. If at all screening actually happened,that it also a question mark. It's a huge mistake on both ends.

All those people arrived later when the self quarantine directive was issued or some governments actually went back to check on people who arrived before the directive was given. Given the amount of strain on arrivals, I wouldn't rule out some governments not really going back to check.

If Lucknow government or Mumbai government actually called her to check,we would have gotten a statement which we haven't.

Leaving out Mumbai, her arrival in Lucknow is crucial. This is where I think goof ups happened. If she hid her travel history when she arrived in Lucknow,then she is responsible for the mess. Self quarantine directive came on 12th. She arrived on 11th. So next day itself she should have been in self quarantine. Oh her own. Or someone from the government should have called her up.

I have a feeling she didn't reveal the UK trip while landing in Lucknow.
