Agreed on the part of the first day's collections part. Akshaye Rathi got it bang on.

For an 8 film old kid, I personally was setting up unrealistic expectations of 30 crores on a normal day like a dumbass lol.😵 Even the 90s established superstars get that number on national holidays. I was setting up false expectations.

On the second part, I have yet to watch the movie. I will watch tomorrow night but I think action movies can still have a gripping screenplay and cohesive storytelling where the action moves the story forward. Action for the sake of doing action, "Oh look what I can do" can be annoying for the most neutral audiences and I think that's where Ahmed Khan went overboard here it seems unlike Baaghi 2. The movie is showing good growth in Saturday sales, which is a positive indicator so let's wait and see how it plays out. Hoping it sails through with the mass crowd backing.

It ain't a hidden fact on this form I hedge my bet on Tiger being THE superstar among his peers going forward and so far he hasn't shown any reason to doubt otherwise. Opening numbers back him up. Dude's mass appeal is just incredible. He will get the Bhai treatment going foward - "BuT hE CaNt AcT" from the online social media crowd but the numbers will mostly back him up I am sure. He should be smart picking his action scripts if he is gonna fully specialize in the action genre. As cricketfan mentioned above, Tiger is perhaps the only guy in his gen, with even a semi half-decent script and storytelling, is capable of delivering those "mega-blockbusters" ala Bhai level. He should really work with more competent directors instead of this resume -

Sabbir Khan - first movie Kambakht Ishq was one of the biggest trashed movies

Ahmed Khan - choreographer, disaster director before Baaghi 2

Remo - look above

Punit Malhotra - directed one the biggest financial disasters in Gori Tere Pyar Mein before SOTY2

I think Sid Anand is the only "competent" director he has worked with. Just think about it lol. The one-eyed man in the land of the blind. 😆

Story was decent. He will literally do anything for his brother. Baaghi 2 story was better tho. Performance wise I say the actor playing IPL stole the show. Tiger was tiger. Ritesh , shradda, Vijay were good. An Ofcourse a giant portion of the movie was devoted to tiger and his acrobatics. But the others still had lots to do and everyone got some type of hero moment. The film was pretty entertaining I’d say 7/10 on the Maroon scale 😊

Baaghi 3 Does Well On Day One

Baaghi 3 did pretty good business on day one as it collected 17.50 crore nett making it the biggest opening day of of the year. The film was probably hit by the corona news but that would be maybe around 10-15% but this news ensured that the film had little chance of hitting the 20 crore nett. The slowing down of ticket sales could be seen in the advance on Thursday.

The film was also the biggest release of the year hitting 4300 screens as it got the widest release ever in Tamil Nadu / Kerala for a Hindi film which is not dubbed in a South language. The film released in 120 cinemas in Kerala and almost 100 cinemas in Tamil Nadu. The cinemas in Kerala do not give high collections but Tiger Shroff has a following there and this can be seen by the releases and numbers of all his action films.

The best numbers of the film came in Gujarat / Saurashtra, CP Berar, Bihar and Odisha as smaller multiplexes and single screens recorded very good collections in these places. The collections in Delhi NCR, Punjab and Mumbai city were pretty much average and have scope for solid improvement over the next few days. It is Holi period so collections will be up and down in different states though its hard to tell how Holi will play out with the corona news around. The holi holiday is on Monday and it will probably be Wednesday when it is all normal for the film.

Basically if the film can just sustain at normal; levels from here it will do well at the box office. If circuits like Delhi NCR and East Punjab jump then there is even more potential for the film. The Baaghi franchise has now seen solid initials for all three of its outings and the collections are as follows.

Baaghi - 11,93,00,000 (2750 screens)

Baaghi 2 (2018) - 25,00,00,000 (Good Friday) (3500 screens)

Baaghi 3 (2020) - 17,50,00,000 (4300 screens)

Top Opening Days 2020 - Baaghi 3 First

Baaghi 3 easily had the highest opening day of the year as it beat the numbers of Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior by around 30%. It pretty much shows how disappointing the opening days have been so far this year as even Baaghi 3 would have been expected to get a higher number.

It means the wait is still on for the first 20 crore nett day with the last one being Dabanng 3 just before Christmas last year. The 20 crore nett number has been a dream so far but only three films have breached the 10 crore nett mark and they are Baaghi 3, Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior and Love Aaj Kal. the latter came because of Valentines Day otherwise it would have hardly been 8 crore nett. Hopefully Sooryavanshi will set things right as far as initials go later on this month as long as this corona virus stays in check in India. The top opening days of 2020 are as follows.

1. Baaghi 3 - 17,50,00,000 apprx

2. Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior - 13,08,00,000

3. Love Aaj Kal - 11,47,00,000

4. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan - 8,72,00,000

5. Street Dancer 3 - 8,43,00,000

6. Malang - 6,48,00,000

7. Bhoot - 4,85,00,000

8. Chhapaak - 4,46,00,000

9. Jawaani Jaaneman - 2,88,00,000

10. Thappad - 2,76,00,000

Just back from Baaghi 3 .The film is bit of a letdown compared to Baaghi 2 which had a gripping plot with decent suspense .Here everything moves in a linear fashion with few surprises .The film is so predictable with been there done that feel .The back track of father especially is completely outdated .Still it remains a fair watch till interval when the kidnapping occurs .However the second feels bit too contrived .The last 30 minutes especially are litle too much to endure and you just want the film to get over ..Tiger is getting repetitive .Ritesh Deshmukh is irritating and hams .Shraddha is annoying ..Below average
