Thappad Has Poor First Week

Thappad collected a poor 21 crore nett apprx in its first week. The collections are low but that is not really the problem as its expected but the issue is that the film has not really held up well enough on the weekdays. These films depend on the weekday business and must hold steady and go forward in week two but it has not happened here.

Chhapaak had collected 26.23 crore while Panga was15.25 crore and another family member Saand Ki Aankh was 11.58 crore. The difference between these films and Thappad is that Thappad was a solo release while the others had competition from a bigger film. The film needs to do a double digit second week or near for a decent final result. The first week collections of the film till date are as follows.

Audience Gives TIGHT SLAP To Thappad

The much raved (by media) about Thappad which was actually called the most important film ever made in India on release has been given a tight slap by the audience. These sort of gimmicks actually deserve this sort of treatment from the audience. The film has been totally rejected everywhere with even metro cities recording not so good collections.

The film did look bad from the trailers but much like its predecessors like Saand Ki Aankh, Chhapaak and Panga but sometimes metros do take to these type of films if they like the content but no such thing happened here. The film collected under 1 crore nett on its second Friday and its probably going to finish around the 30 crore nett mark. The film may have been affected a little by the corona virus news but that will be around 10-155 only and hardly alters its fate. . The collections of Thappad till date are as follows.

I watched the movie again. It’s disheartening to see the box office report but i know why.. there are mostly men in the country and they won’t watch it. But they should.. even women should. But men ko dar lag ra hoga to watch it... lol.. there ego gets heart ...

Second Monday is one crore, more than second Friday. Despite coronavirus scare and competition from Baaghi.

Even BOI has begrudgingly revised its earlier estimate of less than 30 crore, saying it will cross Chhapaak's lifetime of 32 crore 😆

Thappad’s average review is one of the highest ever. It deserves to be a applauded there... box office collections are just useless for me. Ever shittiest movies get crores of rupees but in the end the movie is still a shit movie.

However good to see people are still watching it despite coronavirus. Best part is that more people are watching it now.

Thappad Second Tuesday Business

Thappad got good Holi benefit on Tuesday and collected 1.50 crore nett which takes its total to 28.25 crore nett. The film has been boosted a little by the Holi period over the last two days and it might be able to do a second week of 9 crore nett. .

The total collections of the film still remain low and the film has been rejected but if it can hand around for the next two or three weeks it may just about get a little respectable final number. The killer for the film was the weekday numbers in week one as its these which make or break these small films. The collections of Thappad till date are as follows.

Apparently the movie is climbing up and up.. it started on a low but word of mouth and brilliant critic reviews are making people watch the film. Good for Taapsee and team. Hard work and good thoughts prevail!!
