I get that but am team subtitles it hardly restricts you and opens you to wider content. Totally with bongo Jun hoo😆 On this. And for people who can't read dubbing is an option.they should invest in better dubbing artists and trying to dona better job at that then remaking and basically copy pasting takes away from the original artists even the actors who work in remakes have a basic template that they then have to follow they don't have to make this x y z character from scratch and the worst part when people start giving credit to the remake more than the original that is the absolute worst doesn't matter what language it is in and idc if you are legally remaking or illegally to ke it is an insult to the original content caz then the people involved are only in it to mint money and not caz they want to tell the story

Lol you’re quoting Bong Joon Ho? Have you already seen Parasite then? I’m yet to watch it. Have seen his Okja and Snowpiercer though.

Okja was made in two languages I think.

Anyways, regarding subtitles, even there it’s a delicate balance. Some people just don’t do a good job of subtitles and kill the essence of the movie. So basically it’s about taking care with never diluting the essence of the movie.

I do agree that the original vibe of the cast and acting is also better absorbed in the original film if the subtitles are well done. But sometimes some cultural references are too obscure and in those cases, remakes can fill the gaps. So I feel this is all subjective.

Dubbing I’m not sure about. That also takes away from the essence of the original performance many times.

But I do agree that a greedy minded approach is what kills all of it with the quick copy paste for making quick bucks.

Sorry i couldn't stop adding my two cents and i couldn't stop laughing looking at the choice of telugu actors in these remakes 🤣...i dont even go about script here as i have not watched these originals..but as i have idea which genre these orginals belong to , i can say that these three telugu actors are quite mismatch for the genre of these original movies considering the kind of image these 3 actors have in tollywood at present...I mean these three telugu actors have been doing only particular kind of genre from past 10 yrs..these three just dont suit these kind of roles...

If i talk about individual actors

Nitin doing andhadun .. Nitin is an average actor...Ayushman is a better actor than him...So i dont think anyone would like to watch Nitin's remake leaving Ayushman's original ...upar se i dont think Nitin is cut for these kind of movies...Based on his films recently...his genre was family entertainers or love stories...Idk whether he can pull off this role..😆

Regarding Venkatesh, yeah he did variety of movies in his whole movie career of 30 yrs..but i dont think Telugu ppl accept him in this avtar right now...bcz we have been watching him in light- hearted family entertainers for past 15 yrs. I dont think he would suit this rural background roles at this point .His Dhrishyam telugu remake with him worked bcz they didnt change anything from original and also Venkatesh suited very well in his role in Dhrishyam ...( I watched Dhrishyam original first...then i watched its Telugu remake...didnt felt much difference ) ... In Asuran i'm skeptical whether telugu ppl accept him at this point...lol

Regarding pink remake, Lmao pawan kalyan acting and his movies were good once upon a time...he did many good movies ..but from past 5 yrs idk what happened to him, he has been doing too much over acting ( like Dhinku) in his movies 😆..i couldn't bear his acting from last 3-4 movies..i find it hilarious to know he is doing Pink remake. His movies have been flop from past 4 yrs .So doing this remake at this point is a not a good idea for him too 😆

And also these orginals are good movies...Everyone are aware of these movies in India...I'm sure majority of Telugu ppl watched these movies already.Even if they didnt...i dont think anyone would like to watch their remakes in Telugu...only one or two remakes from bollywood succeeded in tollywood...

I have nothing against Nitin, Pawan kalyan or Venkatesh but i dont think its better idea of doing those remakes with these actors...And i believe remakes can never replace originals chahe kisi bhi industry ho..particularly if they are good movies...lol...

And this is not just my opinion...most of the telugu ppl will definitely feel the same way if they come to know these 3 remakes...😂

I'm waiting for Parasite to be available on some streaming platform....will watch it then😆

Oh and thanks for the Mahanati link! I had searched for it on Prime a while back but it wasn't there then....I guess they added it baad mein. Chalo good I'll check this out soon.

Nah you are not wrong at all I feel nitin's general lack of expression may end up working for him😆 But that is not a compliment. Rest pink and PK🤣 you already know my opinion on him I don't need to repeat it this is the one guy I avoid watching anything of😆 it sounds like a DISASTER of epic levels. However, I must mention here that I did watch the pink Tamil remake with shraddha srinath and ajith which was good. Not as good as original caz they added some masala factors in it like thala's whole fight scene in the park but still it worked on the bigger scale caz ajith has the talent to pull it off and he was great

Also I must mention I really adored his chemistry with vidya balan in the film and I wished they'd do a full fledge film someday caz BOY the talent* omg* and they looked HOT

😆 Yes I do not as regularly though caz well desi cinema is more what I identify with but still I do these 2 films were easy to connect too given the cultures were so similar to our home countries and how universal the emotions were. Not the biggest fan of superhero or comic book films in general though and don't get the hype.
